Hey Brett.. Happy Valentine’s Day to you!Listening to Mulgrew Miller talk about being in the moment. And, listening to him play Cole Porter’s song “I love you” on Valentine’s Day Is a wonderful moment. It brings back great memories of my dear mother singing along with a Jo Stafford recording back in the days. All jazz messengers like yourself. Again, thanks for sharing Mulgrew’s artistic piano playing, his passion, and his wisdom…Torr

Very enlightening. I met Mulgrew through a mutual friend, Donald Brown. And I got to see them in concert in Memphis and one time flew to Boston when Mulgrew was with Tony. Since I worked at FedEx at the time I met Donald there and the band was great. I play trumpet so to hear Wallace Roney was very cool. Mulgrew's playing certainly did grow over the years so he spoke the truth. Thanks for this.

Thanks Bret. Miller is skilled in expressing himself, and it's not limited to his telling a story on the keyboard and through the medium of the bandstand! His eloquent defence of an art form, culture, nurture and its resonance in our time , is beyond category. I'm so pleased he mentions Art Blakey as suggested by Harold Mabern, as being so vital to appreciating why this music needs to continue uts growth and his legacy is preserved in recordings. And, Bret, you making some of this available because of the content you possess, is also appreciated beyond category. (You think Ellington will accuse me of plagiarism!!!!)

Valuable stuff to hear him talk about his experience with segregation. I also really resonated with what he was saying from 9:20 - 10:12 (as a teacher myself).
