Coincidentally, I knew someone that was named LeRoy that had a Chevrolet El Camino, but it was one from the First Generation and it was also an SS model. Sadly, it was also a rust bucket and it needed a LOT of TLC, but he was a mental case, a drunk, a druggie, a smoker, and an abusive jerk, so, between those things, and the horrible environment in which to get gainful employment, he could not hold jobs donw for long in his life and he eventually had to let that ride go, as well as several other awesome ones.

Great Job Steve! I just hope people can remember that in this sport parts break, engines fail and more often than not, the break is a result of the fact that the parts are being pushed past their physical limits or they wear out/fatigue faster than if those parts were under normal stress loads. The fact that he was able to start the car without any issues and dial it in on the dyno in only six or seven pulls that all went perfectly (save for the traction issues) is a testament to how good Steve is at building and tuning engines. I can’t wait to see what she does in the 1/4 mile! It’s like a whole new car again!

Just want to throw it out there, but I think many of the casuals that aren't familiar with Steve Morris sort of underestimated how bad ass of an engine this man can build. Everyone loves throwing number around, but the old set up barely squeaked out 1300hp on the dyno and was bending rods every few passes. With that being said I'm actually impressed that LS withstood the abuse it was taking. All in all everyone should let it set in that this car is comfortably pushing 2000+hp without breaking a sweat. This man builds engines for some of the badest street (cough cough pro mod) cars in the US. It is an absolute privilege Cleetus is trusted with running one. This man is laying his reputation on the line I front of millions of viewers and mostly casual fans that don't understand racing. Not only does he earn my respect but I feel like I owe him a beer.
