That was a great idea using the nylon pool thingys to replace the corroded adjuster buttons. The screws you were trying to replace are basically sheet metal screws. You should be able to get those in stainless steel at Ace or other hardware stores. The fine thread screw is called a machine screw there’s a big difference. Glad that you got the Kruzer up and running again !

Great video - call it Lazarus - raised from the dead, the nylon bolt label on the bag says the bolt is a nylon mach (machine) screw 1/4 inch diameter, 20 threads per inch (that's the fine thread), 1 1/2 inch long. Also, the screws with the wide threads are commonly used in plastic. Those wide threads allow for plenty of plastic material between threads to keep the screw from striping out vs fine threads with less plastic material between threads.

You should have dug up the signal when you first put the detector on, just in case He Detector finds another ring in the back yard.

I can't post a link for the screws, but here's the description if you go to A mazon. A number 6 screw is 3.5mm, but that's probably what you have. Free returns if it's not 😉 Small Parts is the brand. glad you got it fixed. id thing the manufacturer would have the screws you need. that detector would be kinda irratating to me as noisy as it is. i like the quite

Probly a safe bet not to submerge that one. .but you have the score 2 now that you can dive with!!!

Regarding the screws: the color difference tells me that they are coated, most likely anodized since color can be added to the process. Think those copper colored cookware that everybody raves about, no difference than any other anodized aluminum (other than hard-coated, which those would not be). I would bet any aero or industrial manufacturing machiine shop in your area has tooling or video measuring equipment that can tell you the thread pitch and size for you to purchase at someplace like McMaster-Carr or Grainger. Or, send me one and I'll have it measured for you.

That is a solid detector I thought the lock up on the coins and gold ring was awesome. 👍 I sent you mail on company that makes those screws. KZfaq seems to be deleting my comments any way I try to type in the website name….
