A multi-plate clutch works by the use of hydraulic pressure to drive its gears. It is used in race cars including F1, IndyCar, World Rally and even most club racing, motorcycles, automatic transmissions and in some diesel locomotives with mechanical transmissions. It is also used in some electronically controlled all-wheel drive systems as well.

I think you missed that the intermediate iron plates are also keyed into the housing and bolts to flywheel. So the set of iron plates are keyed to flywheel and the set of frictions are keyed to the input shaft. It must be..

Maybe I have no idea about clutches, but I think this guy is mistaken. And what is worst: is mistaking all of us. But not all is bad, graphics are pretty good.

Jason Minahan is spot on with his input. And, as some other people mentioned, this is only good for basic understanding, but is in no way accurate enough as to how this multi-disc clutch set-up actually works. You really need to re-do this video and improve upon it.

the cast iron plates in between are not connected to the flywheel which makes this clutch just a failure .

Анимация сделана, немного не верно. Промежуточные плиты должны сединяться к корзине, увеличивая площадь сцепления. Анимация показывает, как будто только один диск зацепляется за маховик. А вцелом очень понятно!👍
