Multi-Species Fishing in Southern Portugal!

Күн бұрынIn December of 2021, I went to Albufeira in southern Portugal with my family and did some fishing! In this video, I multi-species fish two different spots local to the place I was staying. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous and so were the fish! I can't wait to share the rest of the trip on my channel. I caught so many cool species of fish in some stunning areas.

The big fish is called Sargus and it's indeed a member of the Sea Bream family.. lovely place

you should have gone fishing in those first few days with poopy weather. poopy weather is always good for fishing. Also regarding licenses, if you have a portuguese bank account you can buy a license at an ATM (rlly cheap as well). but ya if you have to go through the beaurocracy then you definetley have to be patient in this country

With the awful weather, the wind was probably the biggest problem. I don’t mind rain or cold weather but the wind was just brutal. Fortunately I caught a ton of fish the following week after the bad conditions 👍🏻

Looks fun I’m heading to albuferia tomo morning for a couple days and going to head down the harbour with some bread and prawns and float fish for whatever I can. - where was you based looks lovely

It’s honestly a difficult place to fish. You’re unfortunately not allowed to fish the marina for some reason. You might be able to fish off of the outside of the longer jetty but I was told inside of the marina/harbor is a no go. The cliffs and beach are pretty much the only fishable areas. Float fishing is definitely the ticket if you’re going off the rocks. I lost tons of rigs bottom fishing. Prawns and squid are probably your best bet. Some of the locals had decent luck with Seabass and bream off of the beach. I decided to make the drive to Quartiera most days because you can actually fish the harbor there and the fishing was just so much better.

Nice content! Looking forward to part 2. How did you manage to get fishing licence? It seems very complicated.

It was definitely very complicated. We had to drive over an hour to the nearest fisheries office. There we had to fill out several different forms at two different offices within the building. The wait within the building for the license was over an hour as well. A lot of their cataloging and stuff is still done on paper vs online which is why it takes so long

How did you obtain a license?

I went to one of the local fisheries offices and got one in person, it was a pretty complicated process honestly. I’ve heard that if you know someone who as an ATM card that works in Portugal you can just get one in an ATM

If your going to keep the fish to eat then do it a favour and give it a whack on the head. Its not nice to just let it suffocate in a bag.

Off camera I pull the gills and bleed them, KZfaq is funny about showing fish deaths sometimes
