dont mean to be rude..just an advice, weld is to cold, that is why no penetration, need more amps, put some root gap on the butt joint...practice pushing and not just dragging, pushing is tested to be more stronger...but your stacks are good...weld more and experience will reward you... dont mind the harsh comments sir...✌️

Chamfer has no face and there is no gap in root for penetration of weld. Also you are dragging torch direction appose to pushing torch forward that way you can see wire melting pool as you go and get better penetration I hope you find this info helpfull. You have the basics, just need change prep and adapt forward welding proses.

👍 Exactly Alvaro! Perfect analysis! 👍 In addition, in all cases that the joints broke, the reason was "cold solder". The "cold weld" is due to the low current and arc voltage, and the wrong welding position and procedure. The equipment delivers what is proposed, just the operator's inexperience. I have 25 years of experience in welding with coated electrode (MMA), 22 years with MIG / MAG. 👍

Nothing wrong with the machine the problem lies with the operative. Why didn't he remove the milscale then gap the v and corner joints, but the biggest problem is not enough amp's, he seems to be obsessed with getting the stupid stack of dimes finish, as a welding inspector I never see it as it is not a recognised technique and I certainly would never recommend it in any situation, you could get away with it on thin wall box section but I can see no point in it.

At the beginning of the movie you can see the settings of 20volt and 111 Ampere, what parameters would you use to weld root? Do you think you need to heat the material 5mm ? Do you think 20v and 111A it's not enough? The welder from this film should set the gap between the plates when he is welding in a down hand position butt weld and use right technic to do it.
@cjhification2 жыл бұрын
@@ryszardstrzegowski9479 if your welding with MIG/MAG you set the voltage and the wire feed speed, if your welding with MMA you just set the amps. Wire feed speed needs to be set to the voltage, with thicker material you require higher voltages and higher voltages require higher feed speeds. You are ideally looking for a crackling sound, akin to bacon frying lightly but constantly. For sticks they are matched to thickness of materials and have recommended amp range. (As well as things like ability to weld vertically or inverted). Then it's a matter of getting some scraps and playing till your happy, then cuting them apart with wither a metal chop saw or an angle grinder and have a look to see if you actually penetrated in to the base materials or if you just blobbed on some hot metal. The etching is the best way to see it.

@pawepacholski2520 Жыл бұрын

Hello, I have one piece for learning TIG welding and also MAG (Metal Active Gas such as CO2,not argon gas - MIG). I heard, that welding MAG need 30Amps per mm of material thickness and also for each wire diameter the range of material thickness is determined
@peterslachta17083 жыл бұрын
Excuse me. 30A is for TIG welding... For MAG welding is formula 1A for each 0.001" of thickness and 0,6mm wire is for material thickness range from 0,8 to 1,2mm. This values are from welding charts
@AutodidactEngineer Жыл бұрын
That's what they recommend but every machine is different so feel free to use whatever works best for you! Also don't be scared to up the amperage when ever you can after all a strong weld doesn't have to be pretty!
@siarheivinakur9593 жыл бұрын
