For those asking how this happened: I will be taking the Ram to the dealer to examine the power steering malfunction that happened earlier in the day. This section of the trail has a wide, gradual turn, but my steering response did not feel the same. I will update the channel as I get feedback from the dealer examination. Thank you all for your support, love you all.

Should have used a snatch/pulley block to do the side pull instead of pulling across the chassis and bar work like that. Also agree with all the other comments regarding the winch ropes without blankets and stepping over them regardless of them being synthetic or not. With the way some of those pulls were, those rope could have broken in the middle and still flicked up into someone.

Thanks Nathan. I've done some research on synthetic winch lines, and they appear to behave very differently when snapped, but I do agree that being more safe than sorry is a good rule of thumb

@@KrokemOutdoors I attended a recovery class in April @ Toyota Jamboree in Texas. Two expert Instructors with tons of experience. Synthetic lines can definitely cause injury when they break. One of the instructors wife had two fingers broken when struck by synthetic line. It is much better than wire rope cable, but still requires safety precautions. He had the synthetic line as a show and tell as well as photos of the broken fingers....Stay safe out there!

I'm glad to see that no one was hurt and the truck came out without a lot of damage. That said, there were a ton of basic recovery safety rules violated in this video. No one should be hanging out in the danger zone when the line is under load (even with synthetic rope), let alone walking over the line or touching it with ungloved hands. You've done a great job building up an audience on here. They listen to you, and that comes with some responsibility to demonstrate practices that won't get them hurt. Maybe you can reach out to Warn to do a video with them on safe recovery techniques?

Awesome video. My best trips have been when shit hits the fan. Something about planning, teamwork, and getting done right. I had a 2016 f150 break the ice on a frozen river. Tires were not touching the ground due to the ice under the bumpers. One of my buddies climbed out the window and went ham on the ice with an AK. It took a while but once the truck sank to touch the floor we rammed though the rest of it. A lot of back and forth. Our feet were cold from water rushing in. Next was a jeep liberty that figured speed was the way. He lost a fender. Then was a wrangler that did it no problem but the trailer it was pulling disconnected half on ice the other in the water. We ended winching it up to river bank. Some great memories. If you never have wrecked... . You never pushed yourself hard enough. Rip 93 s10 on 38.5x 16 r15 with ford one tons.

That’s scary to think this is common where you are from. Driving with zero visibility is beyond stupid. I use these roads along with others on atv’s. You would of killed somebody if you hit them on a 4 wheeler or another vehicle head on. This should not be looked at as common. I hope he learned a lesson. Thank GOD it was just a ditch you hit. Going to jail for being stupid is not worth whatever thrill you were having. Sorry to be a buzz kill but these guys telling you this is normal is not doing you any favors. I much rather tell you the truth. Please be careful when off road because you could hurt somebody other than yourself.

Nice vid. While good recovery gear is important, I wish there had been more emphasis on “the lesson learned” is to slow down to maintain sufficient visibility. This would have been a much different story if the thing that you didn’t see was an on coming vehicle instead of just a turn in the road. Adequate spacing on dusty roads is very important.

I've been working at a body shop for a bit now and extra tips I learned was if you're painting the door, it's better to take off the mirror and belt molding (the trim at the bottom of the window) for a better paint job in the end. The mirror can get in the way, and if you're unlucky, the clear coat could stick in that gap between the door and the belt molding.

Oh no. Not the rebel. So glad you made it out unscratched. Trucks can always be fixed.

There was a recall on some of the earlier trucks for a inadequately torqued ground for the electrical steering rack. Your truck may be one of the affected trucks. I’ve had two 2019 Ram 1500s, unfortunately wrecked the first one. Absolutely awesome trucks! I’ve had three other Rams with almost no issues whatsoever. Broken exhaust bolts was my only issue over 600k miles driven in Rams.

Other than the headlight, your truck looks ready to go, the rest can be fixed later. Cant wait to see the Jeep.
