I stumbled across this looking for something else entirely. I had been so anxious to make the Pioneer Braid Scarf, but just wasn't understanding it (I'm a visual learner). This was just so divine! Thank you so much Mr. Fiber Spider! I feel so empowered.

Someone posted 'shaky hands' - well, I made my living as a statistical typist for 40 years and still can't type as fast when someone is watching me. So ... don't pay attention to the 'haters' -- they hate that they can't DO. Fiber Spider, this now reminds me of how entrelac is done!! It took me 40 years to give *that* "difficult" technique a try. Once I did (also from a video on KZfaq) it became so easy. Yes, entrelac is easy. I just found you so don't know if you've already done a tutorial on entrelac. Thank you! I have a 1' triloom and this type of scarf can be done to look the same as your finished look.

Thank you, Marny. It's alright, I can accept a little honest criticism, and still continue to do my best regardless. I haven't done a video on entrelac as of yet, but I may at some point. Thank you again, and don't forget - keep stitching 😊☕🕷

Thank you so very much! You're awesome too, creating beautiful things for those in need is an act of beauty in and of itself! If you make the beginning triangle wider, it could make a lovely wrap! If you prefer a more traditional finished triangle shape, I have plenty of other tutorials to choose from in both knitting as well as crocheting. Regardless, keep stitching and add some warmth to the world! 😊

Howdy! I actually discovered a way to find end the piece with a triangle like the one from the beginning of the scarf. Count your stitches and find the middle of the largest triangle. My peice was 50 st so my middle was 25. Then instead of increasing by one stitch at the beginning of a row, k1 and then decrease by one and knit like normal until you knit 2 together at the end like normal. Decreasing by 2 from the middle point until the end helps create that right angle and you end with a half triangle!! Hopes this helps some!

I finally caved in this morning, and started this ! Got out my striping yarn, and had a HUGE light bulb moment... YES... going to do up a bunch of these... only on a small scale... fast and gorgeous for Christmas gifts....lovely textured headband/ear warmmers... and a couple of the more special (to me) folks will get matching scarves and or wristers to go with it! I've started with Red Hearts Stripes in the color Polo stripe due to the rich gorgeous jewel tones. RH isn't my favoritte yarn, but the colorway screamed at me the day I saw it. Definitely going yarn shoppin payday, I have a week yet... I should be plowed through all this RH yarn by then! Some unforgettable and some landscapes are on my list!
@FiberSpider
@FiberSpider 6 жыл бұрын
I love your enthusiasm! I worked with the red heart stripe once when I made a lovely cowl. (link below) Also, I'd recommend the red heart ombre, the color change is really slow, and if you use a large hook it feels pretty soft considering the brand and the low price. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/f56dpatnprG6poU.html

Oh definitely, I have and love the new RH ombres. I waffled a bit on that choice, but went with the stripes for the smaller pieces, and already planned to do the ombres on the larger ones. Once washed, the RH, is much softer. I believe, I could be wrong, that RH is coated... but it comes off in the washing. Lionbrand has a new scarfie color this year, it's to die for gorgeous, called Mint/Silver...there will be some of that in all my plotting and planning as well. I had to laugh, when you said I was enthusiastic, my boss says I bubble... and warns folks to not ask me what I'm working on unless they want a 20 minute answer LMAO! Thanks for the link, I actually have that one saved in my playtlist for the to/do's for Christmas! What can I say, I'm a yarn addict, but yarn is my passion... well crafting and making things... I'll see something, and my mind is just off and gone with colors and patterns here. I have a plan for retirement... it starts with an Etsy shop at some point, but I have a huge network now... of people who continually order stuff and want different things made. I design as well, when the mood strikes... that also depends on color and yarn... or I'll see a pattern, and think, that's just wrong... then run with it and completely change it up... so yes, enthusiastic, crafting goober... that be me! :D You are an absolute sweetheart, thanks for taking the time to read and answer!

Love this! Yes the texture and simplicity is amazing! Decisions, decisions... hmmm, I already have some gorgeous striping yarn. This pattern of multidirectional triangles has long fascinated me. My only dilemma now, is do I start this one (thinking yes!) or the lovely diagonal garter stitch scarf. This is SO clear and concise! Always felt before... these types of projects were beyond me yet... after watching this? I CAN DO THIS!! YAY!! I've only been knitting now for a couple years, but have crocheted my whole life... you make things so easy and clear. Thank you, you rock... as always! :)

After a bit experimenting with the ending, I figured out how to end the scarf similar to the beginning. It's simple. As much as I can explain here: return to the top of the triangle and stitch down back from there (the top) with a slight difference - Do the double stitch (2 in 1) not at the 1st stitch, but as you return. Double knit the single stitch you got from squeezing 2 loops into 1 as you flip side, knitting back to the first loop. This way, you'll end up at the side of the scarf instead of the regular top. I found that I have to knit together a few loops by the very end of the diagonal to keep the parallel look. Yet, that may vary depending on your own particular knitting style. The principle is simple: In order to finish as we started (to get the 2nd half of the bottom triangle at the top, and end the scarf elegantly), you basically reverse the knitting from the top of the diagonal down and even the number of stitches from the bottom up instead of the top down. I hope that helps. I used the rice pattern and I lovit !!! Thank You !!!

@Ariscagata
@Ariscagata 6 жыл бұрын
Hi kishori, I had the same problem and I found a solution. To be completely honest it is not all that perfect but it seems better to me. Try the following: at the beginning of the last triangle you knit the first and second stitches, knit 2 stitches together, wrap the next stitch and turn the work (you have 4 stitches on the working needle and the rest of them waiting at the other needle); slip the wrapped stitch and knit normally the other 3 stitches. Turn the work and knit 3stitches, knit 2 stitches together (the wrapped stitch and the next one) wrap the next stitch and turn the work, slip the wrapped stitch and knit normally. Turn the work and continue these decreases (knit 2 together + 1 wrapped stitch) Just repeat this process until you get the last stitch of the work then you turn the work and bind off. You will have half triangle as in the beginning of the scarf. Hope these can help you. Blesses from Brasil 🇧🇷
