Multifocal atrial tachycardia is an atrial arrhythmia that occurs when the natural cardiac pacemaker site shifts between different ectopic atrial foci leading to multiple p-wave morphologies seen on an electrocardiogram. It differs from a wandering atrial pacemaker rhythm only in its heart rate.

5 months in tele tech. This is helpful as I remember seeing several MAT or WAP that I put as A fib or SA . But now I know some were these 2 . For my position I don’t need to now this but it makes me better when I do as I get feed back for better strip interpretations. Thank you!

I was about to ask whether WAP is synonymous with atrial fib with slow ventricular response and MAT is synonymous with atrial fib with rapid ventr. response Thanks for clarifying!
