I never heard of blocking the debit card. I'm Googling it now. Still trying to figure it out, thanks for the tips.

​@UncleDavesKitchen 😮you lock it. 🔐 it's mostly on all banking services or prepaid cards and ebt cards. Like the prepaid cards have a section for you to put your funds in the savings. When you do it automatically locks 🔒 it and you have to unlock it to do any transactions or it will decline a purchase as nsf. And you can add or subtract whatever amount. Let's say you had $100 in your account and you lock $75 ...the $25 will remain available to use and the $75 is not available. So if you purchased something that was $30 you can u lock $5 and it will be added to the $25 to complete the transaction. As well as you have to authorize each unlock/lock transactions by your pin or fingerprint or facial on whatever device you use.. it's worth using unless there's is a system outage somewhere affecting banks or under maintenance and it can't be done until banking system resets or updates. However for the ebt I don't use it anywhere and got skim 3 times. I need to find this educational information and review it because law still ain't aware that these transactions can still be performed without you using it at any banking machine. Or if u did you withdraw everything at the beginning of the month to avoid issues like this and unfortunately it still happens. I want to know how cuz this issue almost got me evicted last month the 3rd time of being a victim... and I was already dealing with homelessness last year cuz the first time this issue happened it put my family on the street 😢and I live in California too!

@@NoriaMarieBeauTeyMafia I would imagine if they have someones ebt card number they can continue to steal from it, maybe change the PIN number. There are a couple videos on KZfaq how to lock a card. I didn't know this was an option.. I usually use cash from the atm at the bank, but for some items I use the debit card. Better to prevent a problem rather than fix one.

Once a theft occurs you have to file a 2259 and give to the county office, the supervisor reviews it and signs off as approved if you have probable cause case giving information to the incident and the measures you took as a precaution will get a supervisor to sign that form asap. After that, she sends it to the investigation department, and then they'll take the claim and review what you filled out.. at that time, you're waiting for weeks. The longest was month, then two 2weeks, then 7-10 days was this last waiting period. Then, you'll get a letter of notice in the mail or portal of the funds refunded. In that waiting period from the first day of the incident until 10 days later, you should have called that card and reported theft and got a new card number and set a new pin. After some time of this occurring, the county will start sending you a pin to operate the card, but you can change it thereafter... However, this is what's a stumper!! California made it a law to stop all ATM money transaction access 12:00am - 6:00am Sunday-Saturday for EBT cards unless you do it at a POS store and but something and get cash back. But most places are closed at that time! 😕 Ok, here's the stumper! The first time this occurred, it happened at 4 am ...so wait, how in the hell in Southern California 😳 I don't live in socal! So when they said it occurs at places you used tampered !! False .. I do one transaction at a specific place not tampered and withdraw everything at once! One that's partially rent money I add with my employer paycheck to pay rent. So how the hell they access my account with me protecting every last step I do... I already have identity theft and deal with it federally. Don't you think I have covered my steps cautiously? So by saying this... what else could it be????? ​@@stephaniejames4940they are doing something about it. Why do you think it's illegal to do this. This has been happening and will continue to happen. Technology is advancing fast that security for those systems can't catch up. 5g just makes hacking even faster. Now when Quantum computers hit the market these kind of scams along with cyber attacks will just increase and become faster to execute.
