Well in aircrafts it shoots faster than a normal machinegun even used a high caliber ones, in modern US aircrafts as F 22 Raptor and F 35 Lightning II, also more obious the A-10, use gatling guns to shoot faster, and modern Russian aircrafts use cannons with high speed bullets, with WWII the machine guns are designed to fire fast and make more damage as posible to the cost of lost ammunition faster, even sometimes was nescesary used some weaponry called "Magpie", secondary machine guns mounted in the wings as Aerosmith(too curious because Aerosmith canons irl are rocket pods as a WWII airplane), it was more used with airplanes with no main guns or even these days with training aircrafts to train the accuracy of guns with training drones.

Even if he didn't die, I legit can't figure out how he managed to shoot himself. Even flustered surely he can sense his bullets since they're his stand. He was easily able to curve them through a pipe despite being flustered so I'm a bit confused here.

Like I could bend my imagination for the other ones, sure, but this one is a massive asspull that for once I’m not taking. To add on for the hol horse part. Hol horse has the stand emperor a gun stand but it doesn’t act like a real gun just like you don’t need ammo for it. It doesn’t mean just because the stand is a gun, therefor meaning the stand is equal to the power of a gun.

stands are basically made to surpass or rival gods, it's mentioned in the manga when it was explaining why it was made and where it was made from, it was made from a special meteor, basically the dude who made it gathered parts from the meteor from the sbr race which was called the devil's palm and it awakens your hidden ability or potential, like when the arrow pierces you, maybe when you inhale some of the meteor dust from the devils palm. maybe i'm just overthinking things but that's all i know, i read it from the manga but i forgot, maybe it was my imagination.

Polnareff threw back a zinger at the end, after Hol Horse's whole armchair warfare talk. It was correct in the sense that everything has strengths and weaknesses, but Hol was erroneous in thinking Polnareff can never beat him. There's always an uncountable number of factors that go into a fight.
