Mumbai Byculla Zoo | Croc Trail | Veer Jijamata Bhosale Udyan | May 2023 | Under 60Rs.
Hey Guys, I recently visited this oldest zoo in Mumbai named Veer Jijamata Udyan. It is also called Rani Baug, Byculla Zoo, Mumbai Zoo, and Victoria Gardens.
It was built in 1861, earlier there was a garden and in 1890 the garden was extended by 15 acres, especially for the zoo. This place is located right between Mumbai city surrounded by the concrete jungle, close to Byculla Railway Station.
The opening hours of this zoo are 9.30 am to 6pm.
The best time to visit is in the morning, as in the afternoon animals dozed off. You can see varieties of animals like LEOPARD, BEER, FOX, HIPPO, DEER, SAMBAR, AQUATIC BIRDS, PARADISE BIRDS, ELEPHANT, TORTOISE. And also dangerous SNAKES like KING KOBRA and PYTHON. There is a newly built glass enclosure (It's a type of glass cage) for animals. Which gives you a better view angel literally takes you one step closer to wild animals.
