I was there, and can confirm we definently did, particularly as a bunch of other musicians and bands had just been introduced onto the stage... then he said "and the rolling stones" and we knew they wern't coming on. haha.

Well this version is Joe Cocker version which for my opinion is far better than the original.

Have to disagree, the original when listened to in the album just hits different while this version is better in crowds I still prefer listening to the Beatles version while have a cold beer in the backyard.

They don't add anything new or better to the Joe Cocker version of the tune. Just pretentious formulaic imitators. Bleeding rubbish, if you ask me. Loads of noise but not new substance.
