The LA-based trio MUNA is made up of singer Katie Gavin, guitarist Josette Maskin, and guitarist/synth player Naomi McPherson. All three have strong commitments to the LGBTQ community. They explained their opinions on gender and sexuality to Lizzy Plapinger in the exclusive Vevo profile series, “New Shapes" (bit.ly/2kkI06q). They hope their music inspires listeners interested in a “euphoric dancefloor” experience, or some “emo bedroom solitude.”
Their Vevo dscvr performance of “I Know a Place” was shot in Brooklyn, New York. It’s a track from the band’s ‘About U’ album.

The fact that this song wasn't #1 at anytime in the US is abhorrent. People just don't know what good pop music sounds like anymore. This song could easily have fit among the greatest songs of the 80's. Its peaks can also inspire you to throw all caution to the wind and dance without a single f*** given.

I can't Choose Agh. I get more interested in Katie, her energy is awesome. I share the same Zodiac Sign with Josette ♓, but If I have to choose one of them as my favorite, is Katie. At the end we can't choose one because every member in the band takes an important role in the band to make it work really good. 🌟😊😂👌💯🎶

This song is amazing. And These girls should be superstars. And America needs them to make that leap without watering down their message . But the first time I heard this song was on Jimmy Kimmel in January of 2017. That night Katie added the resistance section as a bridge. That section changes it from a good song to a great song.I don't know if Vevo asked them to leave it out or a manager or who. But I am looking to find a version of this song live or recorded that includes that bridge. apparently they no longer allow the Kimmel performance on You Tube since about last summer. The 35 seconds they do allow is like someone giving you a small appetizer and then stealing the main course from you. If any of you know where I can find this song with the Resistance bridge let me know. And may all of you be comfortable just being yourselves. Viva Resistance.

Here's an idea, get the drummer and bassist from Warpaint to join this band. Make it an all-girl band where each member has serious musical chops. The drummer from Warpaint is amazingly talented and is being held down by the poor songwriting of her current band. Their bassist is actually very good and moves well, but overall, the drummer and bassist don't fit the band, you can tell they are hired guns.
