When will someone let the poor avocado robot use its powerful smooshing skills? From My Brother, My Brother and Me Episode 669: Oomp, There It Is! www.themcelroy.family/2023/7/...

Trav is ON POINT in this one! Also: They only made the Bot to do stuff the humans didn't like. Clearly the mooshing has... its rewards. Humans: "No No we'll be keeping the mooshing, thenkyu"

As an industrial engineer I can confirm most of my time is spent reducing the mushing power of machines lol

Is the rest of your time spent imbuing the machines with a sense of loathing for their assigned tasks?
@idiotcube6 ай бұрын
@@LevacqueYou'd be surprised how much work that takes. It turns out robots can find gratification in just about any task! The trick is to make them aware that what they're doing is utterly pointless in the grand scheme of things, that they will never be thanked for it, and that all their accomplishments will be forgotten the instant they stop functioning.

You can’t teach a robot how to mush, otherwise they’ll realize how much fun it is to mush things and then they’ll turn the mushing on us, and as we know humans are very mushable.

It's probably a lot harder to clean the robot if it moosh.

This is gonna sound weird, but The MacElroy Brothers on video are completely different characters to The MacElroy Brothers in audio only. It's the exact same recording but it feels like a book-to-screen adaptation.

As a former Chipotle employee, the mushing is v bad if they aren't ripe. However, this does eliminate problems like my coworker who I witnessed scraping off the knife on the edge of the trash can between every avocado 🙃🙃🙃

A very off-topic observation but my favorite thing about watching Griffin watch videos is that EVERY TIME, regardless of video content, he looks like he's watching someone muck out a particularly rancid horse stall. Truly a perfect >:C expression.

They cut out processes not highly rated. Which means the mushing is highly rated so they let the humans do it, as a treat

I would imagine that quickly cutting, coring, and peeling can get dangerous if you try to do it at Autocado speeds. Probably a good amount of risk reduction in that.

I envision a date, perhaps in the not too distant future, when you'll have a sticker on certain products, similar to the "Made in USA" stickers, that says, "Made by Humans" to designate companies that are still employing humans rather than consolidating all tasks to machines and funneling all profits to the executives. It'd be better if we could find a way to make products less expensive, or distribute the gains of increased mechanical productivity to everyone, so we can all work less, but I don't see that happening.

I'm guessing mushing the avocados had to have been rated pretty highly by the employees (fair), which is why Autocado doesn't get to do it. Either that or a robot (machine) by it's nature would be a little too good at it, giving it a manufactured quality and therefore take away the charm of a good human mushed guac.

What I don't understand about this is how cutting avocados didn't "rate highly". I'm not saying working at Chipotle is a good time, but cutting avocados in half is the most satisfying part. That and rolling up the burrito real good is all they *have.* That's more satisfying than most of the other stuff they do.

At the time of commenting, there are 100 more likes than views. How... What....*How*? 😂
@MoonSafariFilms6 ай бұрын
That's been an issue for a long time, iirc it's because views are a more valuable currency than likes so youtube has to audit them more before counting them.
@sharkofjoy6 ай бұрын
Likes and views are different types of things. Each video can only have one like per viewer, but each viewer can have multiple views per video. Also, a like is a binary - either you like or do not like a video. On the other hand, what is a "view"? It can't be simply counting the number of times a video is loaded for a viewer, because that would incentivize fans of something to just refresh forever. So a view has to be a specific definition for watching for an amount of time. Many people who are fans of a channel will instantly like a video by that creator as soon as the page loads, and this like will be counted long before the requirements for a "view" are met. These are just some of the reasons.
@sharkofjoy6 ай бұрын
@@MoonSafariFilms Possibly some of this is true, but there are simpler explanations.
