The Best Strip Mall Food in Hollywood

If you want the best food in Hollywood, go to a strip mall. We're hitting up our favorite strip mall restaurants and food trucks in the city. Our host Kris Yenbamroong starts off in East Hollywood with basturma in Little Armenia and spicy curry in Thai Town before sitting down to eat the freshest Peruvian ceviche with two of the best skaters around, Eric Koston and Erik Ellington.
And this is the MUNCHIES Guide to Hollywood, after all, so we've rented a star tours van to take Kris and his good friend Eric Wareheim to the best truck for Al Pastor tacos and late night Thai treats. The best food in Hollywood is usually in the most unassuming locations.

@Sauce Money he was speaking fluent Armenian and I'm Armenian myself so I understood what he was saying... He's an Armenian from Lebanon... There's different types of Armenians like Armenians from Armenia, Persian Armenian, Iraqi Armenians, Greek Armenians, Lebanese Armenians and so on... He one of the ones from Lebanon.

As an Armenian from Toronto, I will always be envious of my LA Armenians who have such a well-established community and a plethora of Armenian spots to get food haha. We don't have too many Armenian spots in Toronto and wherever they are I don't see them often.

You know growing up in the San Fernando Valley (just over the hill from Hollywood) I was very use to the multitude of strip malls around me but I was always deterred from trying out the restaurants other than the donut shops. But this sure did change my view around. This makes me appreciate where I grew up that much more.

I’ve never had Thai food, I have only ever seen a Thai restaurant once in my life here in Scotland :( and it wasn’t even a real restaurant it was a take out/take away... looks so yummmmmm

As a lifetime East Hollywood resident, I am proud to see longstanding institutions around the area attain some spotlight. The only error I can vouch for is including Leo's Taco Truck. They made their name in the Mid-City area, and made their move here over the last few years. The best two taco trucks are a block away in a dark auto repair lot on Western and Lexington (El Matador and forgot the name of the one next to it). Nothing like tasting their sweet menu items after a night out. Better Al Pastor tacos and tortas than Leo's overrated truck. Just ask all the Armenian taxi drivers and locals that have lived around the area for +10 years.

i agree. i used to live near leo's, super overrated. those tacos are tiny, and the beans barely have any flavor. i'd hit up taco stands vs taco trucks for the best pastor.

The one thing I like about this channel is the verity of different content it produces. It’s inspiring me to do a video on the different taco trucks in my area. I’m not knocking on Hollywood, I been there, ate there and still truly believe that San Diego, CA still has the best taco trucks in the world. I’m definitely going to make a video of it on my channel soon. If anyone has any suggestions what to put in the video, other than their food, would be greatly appreciated.
