Oh it is labor intensive making a lemon meringue pie compared to say a cheesecake, especially making it the true og style Matty here is making it. My grandmother before passing away had a family famous recipe similar to this (minus the cheesecake aspect) for lemon meringue pie. My family now is dissatisfied with every lemon meringue pie they touch since her passing, but no one knows what her recipe is. However I think Mattie has to be the closest even down to the albeit flimsy torch because she didn't have a fancy torch, because that's exactly how they looked before she passed.

After watching this video 6 dozen times this week alone I finally made this pie from scratch. It was everything I was hoping for but please explain to me how if I followed the recipe to the tee I had enough lemon curd, meringue and cheesecake filling for two pies plus 3 small tart sized pies and had to throw out enough cream cheese filling that would’ve filled two more pies!?!
