Hello from Porto! I am coming to Germany for the whole December and would like to spend a couple of weeks in 2 different cities: Munich and Dresden. From a Xtmas Market perspective, which city should I stay first, please? First half of December in Munich and leave Dresden for the second half or vice-versa? :)

At the 0:56 minute mark, you are eating something like an ice cream sandwich with what looks like a waffle bottom and covered in chocolate? Do you happen to remember what that is called? I have never seen that before and we have been to the Munich markets a few times. Looks like something I need to try! :)

Any idea if these will be open this coming Xmas? Also, is there a great place to go if I'm in Munich over NYE -- gala, bar, festival, etc.? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yes! For now, planning for most (big) markets is going ahead assuming that they’ll take place this year and they’ve already announced dates. For some of the smaller ones, they haven’t announced dates yet but keep in mind things can change last minute depending on how the situation develops with COVID and everything! For NYE, Tollwood is the only big New Year’s festival I know of in Munich. Hope that helps!

Have you been to the Xtmas Markets in Budapest? I was doing some research and apparently it primes for the abundance and variety of delicious food. So if you did try the Budapest markets, how does it compare to Munich’s and Dresden, specially in regards to food? :) Yes, I am a foodie and I blame Anthony Bourdain :)
