Artist: Munir Bashir
The pieces of music on this CD are inspired by Indian music and were found by Munir Bashir's children after his death in 1997. The oud is used very effectively to mimic some of the sounds of the sitar, and the tracks on this recording anticipate the numerous later collaborations between oud players and Indian musicians.

God's mercy on the artist. From the first verses you feel that he opened himself to the world, as you see patterns of Eastern Classical Music, Indian and Western Classical music. What would world be without love, expressed in the music we play? Grateful for this piece.

There is a hateful message expressed in music, but fortunately it's on the boundaries. I found it funny, that bands like Black Sabbath were called satanic even tough their message was quite different...

At around 17:00 he is playing a makam which corresponds to the Indian raaga of Kirwani. Beautiful ✌️

It is actually all a mixture of Kirwani & sometime pilu & other Ragas like bharavi. Also in arab music it is a variation of different maqams (ragas) all under families of Nahawand or Hicaz Maqam

Tommaso Motteran , yes he is the most known Iraqi Oud master. Although dead he is still the best oud player in the world in my opinion.
