This one is very similar to a unit I purchased from Ace-Karaoke.net in 2012. It has a very similar build style and similar menus, but this one runs KTVmanager.exe in the device. In practice, it has been very problematic and not at all simple to use--nonetheless we have used it off and on for years and still do. I would LOVE to update the software to a newer version that's easier to use, but so far nothing has come from Ace-Karaoke (not the California company by the same name). They are totally non-responsive despite claiming to have a "Golden Warrantee." Kind of a joke for $500US.

i think you need to check out again on Amazon, the unit they sale on Amazon is not the one you show on youtube, it is the older model and it's not the latest model (KHP-8836). it is the model KHP-886, it's not same function like you show on youtube..it's more simple and too expensive with the price on Amazon.

+Ca Hat Hmm, apologies Ca, we bought ours directly on AliExpress. I wouldn't really recommend Amazon when you buy direct for cheaper, it's just that many people distrust shopping on a Chinese site.

Also, I wanted to know if there is romanization for Korean songs. Like are the songs totally in Hangul or are they romanized? It'd be awesome to have Romanized lyrics since that would help (a lot of)people who can't read the language.

+MsLilpj The lyrics must be embedded on karaoke videos, so it would depend on the song. The machine itself doesnt display lyrics. I've never tried Korean songs, but typically Japanese songs don't include romanized letters, just the kana.

Do I need to plug in Ethernet cable to get the wifi to work or should the antenna be enough to pick up the signal? All I see is a light bulb with an X on it.

+Alex Do You don't need Ethernet cable for Wi-Fi to work, no. Are you sure it can get Wi-Fi where it's placed? It's quite a slow connection, if you have a modern router it may have automatically disabled the old a/b/g 2.4ghz network, so check your router too.

+Sharonestelle You need to edit the song list file (can't remember where it is offhand, but it's on the same drive), which is a nasty database/spreadsheet looking thing. In that you can assign a number to type in directly, or search via the usual methods.

+Alex Do Not as far as I can tell. I just hit the power switch having quit the Karaoke app and once it's got out to the Android base menu.

I borowed one of these unit from my friend and copy the HD to an external one. Anyone know how you can get the music video to play on a laptop/desktop. I messed around with the player which is a model 8826. Personally i don't think it's worth more than $150. Has too much lag and is very slow to respond. Freeze on me a few times while trying to use it. Very outdated technology for what they asking for this.

+Jennifer Tsan I found a solution. I ended up reinstalling the apk file for Lemon KTV and it worked! I can email it to you if you want.

how do i search chinese artists or chinese songs?? with only the english alphabet to search from? and android phone apps doesnt connect to server.

+impact glory Difficult. Other than straight up browsing, each Chinese song has the artist initials, I think you can narrow down more easily with that. Installing a Chinese keyboard on your Android or where would be the easiest, I think.

I got this machine but somehow I got stuck at the android logo while booting. It looks like it's going to stay like that forever. So I decided to reset, and then the LemonKTV app has stopped working. I would like to know is there a way to fix this? Thanks

+Commo T Did you do a full reset using the firmware they provide, or some default Android thing? It involves putting the firmware on a usb stick then resetting.

+sok heng You need the software from the manufacturer. The videos are placed in a specific folder strcuture, and you fill out the meta data into a spreadsheet-like program. Then you export the database from that app, and place it in the config file. If you dont have that software, you cant use the karaoke machine.

+Chi Cao This sounds SO MUCH like the KTVmanager.exe that we used in our device. You put the image of the artist in one folder, the song in another, and then you have to upload a spreadsheet that corresponds. It's UTTERLY un-user-friendly for anyone but an IT pro.

Not for iPhone, but if you have android, you can find archvied versions of the APK and install that.
