A very good argument for an armed citizenry. In Oklahoma a Muslim cut one of his co-workers heads off and was going after another. He was saying the usual allah akbar, the owner of the shop shot him with a legal rifle. Same story different ending.

Served at Woolwich Barracks myself 1970...biggest mistake the Army made was the regimented "look" of the guys....Nothing looked more like a Squadie walking round Woolwich than a Squadie...!!....Anybody could pick us out..and some Pub landlords would stop us at the door on arrival..!!!.. We were never allowed to carry arms outside the Camp...if poor Lee Rigby had a sidearm things might have been different..!!...Don't suppose anythings changed though...!!!!!!!

I was at the chow hall at US Navy Training Center Damneck when this was on CNN news. Pretty shocking. Had their patrolman been armed w/ a gun, Mr. Rigby's life would have been saved. It was too little too late by the time their special response units arrived. He was nearly decapitated by those extremists.

I do hope that it wasn't removed by the local council. Given how inconspicuous it was I suspect a local "person" (for want of a better word) removed it with a screwdriver or similar. Perhaps somebody who lives locally has some more information.
