@@neoieo5832 Credit to the kid. Sad that a fully grown adult needlessly took a young boy's life, and ruined his mother's life. And credit to the RNLI and police for capturing him. And the judge for handing out a sentence that wasn't utterly pathetic. I wonder if he's sat in his cell now asking himself if it was all worth it? What a waste of life and everyone's time and money. So, he doesn’t care about a 15 year olds life and her mum, but he flees to France then realises he could d** so gets on the lifeboat! Such a nice warm caring character he has 😤 the thought of being dragged under a ship & being ‘gone’ No idea why he thought a bike helmet could help and his ‘sail’ would be useful. The amount that come in and are assessed as not suitable to be released to the general public would surprise you , going on in USA too , I watched a news report where a doc said some could never be released , and we are still allowing them in , I know there were a lot due to Syrian war which was a continuation of on going conflict with Isis and earlier conflicts , that could be a reason why the conflict was arranged to flood the west with dangerous people cause a lot didn't really add up in the past events , there was no real reason for 9\11 other than the reason some say for Oct 7th

If I was fleeing persecution, danger or a war zone, I'd have my family with me and we would be glad of the first safe refuge! My first priority would be to make sure my family is safe, NOT leave them behind. My second priority would be to want to go back home when my country is safe to return to.

They literally said they cannot leave him there. And if they had, the authorities would still be looking for him. The RNLI rescue people that weren't planning on leaving (and muppets like this). If you would, redirect your barely intelligible murblings towards HM Coastguard. Almighty! I wager if a liberal arts Eton-schoolboys-club Classics major that occasionally cosplays as a milkman muttered something about reclaiming boarders, you'd tear down the RNLI faster than the beleaguered Tory leadership could tell all the "foreign" doctors to jog on during crises of understaffing and underfunding in the NHS.

The almost exact same thing happened in north America. If you look up Oregon coast guard boat collapse. A man wanted for crimes in Canada fled all the was to the Oregon coast in the United States. He then stole a boat, but called for a mayday when rough waves make him take on water. The coast guard saved him seconds before a huge wave flips the boat multiple times. Hours later authorities figure out who he is. He also put a dead fish at the door of the house that was used in the movie The Goonies 🤷‍♂️

RNLI are volunteers dealing with a complete failure of the French and British governments to deal with these desperate people. We now have people in Britain who no idea of what this country stands for, the RNLI are the best example of what it means to be British. We are a fair people the coastguard should have been massively expanded to deal with UK government incompetence regarding 'asylum' seekers not risking the lives of the RNLI.

The RNLI are there to save lives. Not to get involved in political and asylum claims. Each member might have their own personal feelings on this, but they remain professional because they have a job to do. Do I agree with people crossing into the UK via dinghy’s, of course not. Do I agree with us housing them over UK residents? Not a chance. But I don’t blame the RNLI for doing their job either by saving lives regardless of race, creed or colour.
@jameswright4236
@jameswright4236 3 ай бұрын
They wouldn't have to though if our leaders actually did their jobs properly and stopped such crossings before they even set off. The French turn a blind eye to the problem because they see it as an issue solving itself. There needs to be an amendment to asylum and Refugee laws where avenues are opened more widely for claims, but only in the first country you arrive in that is a signatory to the UNHCR as opposed to picking and choosing where you claim.

People accusing the RNLI of trafficking are ridiculous. The RNLI are governed by law, and would be in serious trouble if they allowed someone to die at sea. If the RNLI pick an immigrant up, they get in contact with the relevant authorities. Little fact for you all: around 70% of migrants picked up by the RNLI are deported back to their countries of origin.

"In December 2023, the Home Office revealed that only 408 non-Albanian small boat migrants have been returned to their home countries since 2020." To put that into perspective more than 500 crossed this Wednesday. And another fact: "In 2023, the most common origin region of asylum seekers was Asia and the most common single nationality was Afghan."
