I am right now studying in Ireland and unfortunately you have not discussed the biggest CON Ireland has. Housing crisis!. Literally there are no houses and students are going homeless or paying insane rents. No part time can cover the rental costs in major cities now. Also the added pressure of house hunting is crazy. Anyone coming to Ireland sort out the accommodation first or else its better to try other countries

Most of the companies you list are American. They prefer Ireland because most of us speak English. They also like Ireland because our legal is a Common Law system, which their legal people understand. The time zone is important as well. A company based in Ireland can basically dal with the entire planet with two shifts. There is also the fact that Irish-Americans are numerous and influential in the American political and corporate worlds, so there is a built-in bias towards Ireland when it comes to expanding outside the USA. The Irish educational system turns out well educated people, and all the universities have quite intensive links with the industrial sector. There is a push/pull syndrome here, in that the arrival of the multinationals drove the expansion of the third level sector, and then the output of educated people drew more companies. There is no such thing as 'An Irish Accent'. We have about 38 distinct regional accents. Irish people can tell, within 20-30KM, where a person is from just from their accent.

Hey gloin, so as one of the comments stated that ireland has a problem of renting apartments and houses, is it actually so? And what are the ways to get around this?
@gloin10
@gloin10 Жыл бұрын
@@sankalpgupta353 The sad reality is that we have a housing crisis in Ireland. It was about thirty years in the making, and it will not be solved overnight. At the moment, demand far exceeds supply, whether you are thinking about buying or renting. Homelessness is a massive problem. Rents are simply ridiculous.

@mateuszbenkowski8803
@mateuszbenkowski8803 Жыл бұрын
Hi, you want be able to get a job as a medical scientist in Ireland unless you are licensed with a society that regulates medical scientists working in Irish hospitals. There is not masters in Ireland that grants you this license. You can undergo a conversion course however after which you can work as a medical scientist. But know that the pay is poor for medical scientists and there are no benefits that come with the job (that is, medical insurance, etc.). It's easy to get a job with the life science industry however, but as a medical scientist, its extremely difficult. If you wish to get into the research end of things, a PhD is the minimum required and it is very competitive as there is an abundance of people with PhDs, masters and bachelors in the sciences. If you're looking to do a masters, the masters will be very expensive in Ireland. Most start for non-residents at 23,000 euro. However, the sciences are especially expensive so you're looking at closer to 30,000 euro. For residents, most medical sciences will cost a minimum of 12,000 euro. PhDs pay very poorly on the other hand, you're looking if you get paid 17,000 euro per year. Keep in mind that Ireland is extremely expensive to live in at the moment. In Dublin, renting a very small room will easily start at around 1,000 per month without bills included. Ireland is nice, but not when you look at it financially. We have the highest higher education costs in Europe because universities are no government funded, they find their own ways to earn money and its usually by increasing the number of students coming in and making them pay extremely high amounts of money to go to college. I apologise if this is a bit of a negative answer but it's the truth from someone growing up and going through the Irish education system.
