I personally love the look of the Charger EV but the fake engine sound it makes is bad. But I’d like to see a Hellcat beat this, and it Looks 20% like the OG Charger from F&F kinda. My opinion though.

As a hobby car designer myself, I think the design of this is awesome! They probably could have changed a few things, but it looks cool regardless... As for the "fake" sounds; it's produced by exhausting the sound from the electric motor through an exhaust system. It will sound different under load. Still better than a normal EV, but not the greatest sound...

Just an FYI Pantsman Mcgee, this car does not use a speaker system for the sounds. It's in fact a real exhaust under there which determines the amount of airflow being used through the turning of Electricity into power.

Some more BeamNG content would be awesome. They improved the sim big time in the last couple years... when everybody else was delaying their games xD

If I’m not wrong, it’s not necessarily a sound being played through a speaker. It’s a sound that’s actually being produced that’s being sent through an exhaust and amplified. It’s an actual sound, just amplified to match the decibels of a Hellcat.

I love this concept from Dodge, and I honestly can't understand why anyone unbiased would hate it. It's an Muscle-EV, with a gearbox that has multiple speeds, and a badass design + sound. Also, the sound is NOT PLAYED FROM A SPEAKER. It's the sound OF THE ELECTRIC MOTOR, just AMPLIFIED. The sounds in that video were not recorded live. FIAT has already done this with their 500e, and it's awesome. Much cooler than the MACH-E or whatever crap SUV Ford put forth.

Edit: I could go on all day with tips for automation, but I'll just say that in BeamNG, either use ctrl q, or click the little ESC button to turn off traction control also clicking the bottom option in stuff for automation doesn't always equal the best you baboon, you made a muscle car with a transverse engine and a truck chassis.

From what i understood, the exhaust is like a wind instrument since its wind that pumps out the sound. So even tho what we heard from dodge sounds pathetic af, the car should scream when its actually in motion. And the exhaust on the car was the "performance exhaust" (whatever tf that means) so maybe after market exhausts will be a thing for it???

The EV Charger prototype is cool. And its based off the shape of the early coke bottle chargers. Yeah the C pillar roofline is shaky but its dope and the sound is real, it isnt a speaker. I just dont see everyone's complaints like we didnt already see this coming/know it was gonna happen

If you play Beamng again you need to check out the reworked Gavril Vertex mod. It is huge and has to be one of the best mods out there. Also the little esc thing next to the spedo is drive modes.

The sound is not fake or made using speakers, Dodge calls it the Fratzonic exhaust chamber and it basically amplifies the noise from the components through vents all around the car and since it has a gearbox it behaves like a combustion engine car. Dodge didn't put the details out about this system because it's still patent pending and because of that many would assume that it's manufactured or fake speaker sounds. This exhaust chamber can produce loudness that's more than Hellcat Hemi.

I honestly like the new design of the charger, the modern day charger should've looked like this from the getgo.

If this is truly the electric successor to the current charger than I`m in, and I certainly aprove of this infinitely more than the mach-e (I refuse to acknowlage it as a mustang, not because it`s an EV, but because it`s a crossover). I seem to have read somewhere that this thing doesn`t use speakers, but rather the motors are designed in such a way that they actually generate the noise as they spin (probably by pushing air through some ducting that is designed to do that noise, or something similar). I don`t hate the sound... To me it sounds like what if hemi but electric... As for this being the new charger: it is clearly designed to look like the gen2 charger (the one everybody likes), the 60s chargers were 2 door coupes like this is, and I don`t like the shape of the modern challanger much, so if they dropped the challanger name I wouldn`t be mad, even though I`m a 4 door man myself, and I think it would look better if it were a touch longer and with a swoopier roofline Also, I think that even electric cars should make noise, even if it`s just for safety reasons, because as much as I can usually hear an EV approaching just fine when I`m walking down the street, alot of people who are a bit hard of hearing may not, and some extra noise is pretty wellcome

I like the EV Dodge Charger Prototype and it really looks like the remake modern version of the 68, 69 model years. Things are changing get used to it you can not stop time progressing or the future :P

Just to correct you, it's not through an electronic speaker, It's actually through an air compressor pushing through a series of sound chambers. Think of a pipe organ. additionally, the design is meant to return to the form of the 68-70 charger, utilizing is iconic "Coke Bottle" design, though the greenhouse does draw cues from the 66-67 Charger or AMC Marlin.

To be honest this is exactly what I wanted because the alternative is a mustang mach e situation and if it is a sound file you could probably replace it with a more authentic noise

Ayo Pantsman, u got it wrong fam. Its not playing an mp3 file and pumping it out of a speaker. Its actually the noise the electric motor makes inside the car, amplified it by a bunch of tubes running across the car and spitting it out of the back, making in sound like a real engine. Of course, the end result is kinda nasty ngl but its a step in the good direction imo.

Not necessarily my favorite but they didn’t specify whether it was through speakers or not after watching other videos as well I do believe it may be just an amplified sound of the electric motor through some sort of system kind of like when you yell through A traffic cone anyways if it’s just speakers it whatever dumb. But if it’s not it’s better than no sound at all I think it sounds better than the ev Porsche motor if so

The look of the car is more because they were going back to the classic dodge charger which was a 2 door. And all in all I'm more surprised that they even can make an ev sound loud with the promise of shifting gears, which as of rn the most gears an ev has is 2. They didn't specify but as of rn dodge as already surprised me. Even if it turns out to be less powerful than a hellcat, you got to start somewhere and I think this car has a good start.
