So it's really up to opinion and what you want to believe at this point in time, and will probably be that way until the end of time. And I don't think this song is about God not existing. Matt is looking from the perspective of a sociopath, or just someone intending to do a bad thing and hoping that there's no punishment for it and is using religion as a reason as a justification for inhumane behavior "breathe in deep and cleanse away our sins and we'll pray that there's no god to punish us", using God as an excuse. I think Matt is more against religion than he is against god or deities, despite him being an atheist. But I think a lot of people are that way, regardless if they are theistic or atheistic.

"Faith" is immaterial: trusting in what you can't see, touch, taste, feel, hear while having a book tell you what it means (through God). You cant necessarily prove that a superior being doesn't exist, but you certainly can't prove that there is a higher power in the first place. The evidence against religion is the evidence of life. Evolution, stars, galaxies, etc. Most of it directly contradicts most forms of deities, and how most people go on to believe that those deities created the universe in a way that is contradicted by the evidence. If that makes sense.

Now that is a contradiction. How can you get facts about something that doesn't even exist in physical world?
