Was only able to see them live once and it was an experience. My favorite song is Butterflies and Hurricanes and I very much prefer the Live version because they add an extra minute of pure instrumentals. Love how they change their songs up for their live sessions.

@@Griffnix I was fortunate enough to have seen them five times already and all of the shows were absolutely top notch. I don't remember if I've ever seen them play Butterflies and Hurricanes, but that song is amazing, I bet that it was spectacular live :)

Their 2nd Album „origin of symmetry“ was a massive wake up call (in the best possible way) back then, especially for musicians and bands. So different, fresh and a great way to remind us how high quality music is done. And their live quality is simply groundbreaking I‘m glad that you did this one!!! Greetings from Germany

Plug-in baby refers to Matt's guitar. The song is about finding solitude in music when everything around you is falling apart.

According to Matt, he wrote the song above a sex shop, "It sounds made up, but it was written above a sex shop." so, it's more likely that song talks about a sex toy. 😉

Muse live is probably one of the best experiences you can have. Their shows are absolutely insane and they sound better than on their records. If you ever get the chance to see them, you have to do it. Trust.

Matt Bellamy is just one of the greatest musicians out there. He’s an absolute genius. Love that he leans on classical influences to write Muse’s music as well. That arpeggio style intro guitar riff screams classical. Love it.

Loved your reaction to my favourite band. As others have suggested you should check out some of their live performances as they are an amazing live band. I'd recommend checking out their songs New Born and Knights of Cydonia if you get a chance.

He definitely mixes it up vocally in the moment, Always improvising. My favorite is actually when he knows he isn't going to hit a note live, and he makes up for it with his creativity.

Muse was for a long long time my Favorite band (for me after the 4th/5th album they went to a very different route musically that I don't enjoy that much, but their first 4 albums are just fantastic!!), so thank you for reacting to them. I would love to see you react to my #1 song of all time, Muse - DarkShines Just the name of the song is amazing... the lyrics... the tempo changes... it's a masterpiece! It's not one of their many hits but, to me, it's my favorite song ever... Another recommendation I always make for anyone starting the Muse journey is to listen to: Hyper Music and Hyper-Chondriac Music and see the genius of Muse! Those two songs have the same exact lyrics but express two completely opposite feelings... it's amazing If you take this challenge, do both songs in the same video! :) And to finish, Muse are one of the best Live bands in the world so, when reacting to their songs you can do the Live versions and you won't lose anything, some of them get even better!! :) (the ones I talked above do the normal videos) Cheers

Oh man it has been so long I have heard this song!! Muse has such a distinct sound and it is amazing. Bliss was there first song that I ever heard of them and fel in love with the band ever since.

Speaking about spontaneity, legend has it that the vocal outro to Muscle Museum came about because of (reasons?) limited takes available, he fumbled the start of the guitar piece and sung the solo instead and that made the final cut.

I'm honestly surprised you've missed this one (I am assuming it's a first time reaction) The fans love this song...I saw them way back in 2018. When they played this song everyone went crazy. The best part was I saw a proper biker-metal head....leathers, long hair, band top with all the patches. He was having the time of his life when this was played XD My take on the song is that his 'plug-in baby' is his guitar, and it crucifies his enemies by allowing him to express his feelings through the music, and to move on from the things that affect him enough to draw that music out.

Loved this reaction. My favourite band at the moment. Watched them live at Huddersfield along with "The Warning" and "Royal Blood" who I both definitely recommend you check out more in the future. Also you should definitely check out Muses song "Reapers" from their Drones album. Such a great song with an amazing guitar solo. Keep up the good work

Goosebumps every time! Watched them play this this weekend and it hits me hard every time! Sounds as good live now as it did over 20 years ago! Also if you want some real extreme vocals Micro Cuts is your go to, sadly not performed live any more but it's a banger!

What a great Reaction, I ahve only watched very few Singers reacting to Muse, tbh everyone is going to say that you should go for Live videos, and they're not wrong, BUT, there is something about the studio versions, either way I think you will be satisfied. I think we all want to see them love because they're absolute great performers. leaving my personal Favourites, live or Studio. -Microcuts -New Born -The Handler -Muscle Museum - Showbiz - Time is running out - Citizen Erased. - Assassin - Dead inside... You know what I could pick any for any album you go with hat you feel like.

I can only echo the comments made by others, you should check out their live recordings (I'm convinced they're one of the best live bands ever). For starting out, I'd recommend listening to these songs: Map Of The Problematique Knights Of Cydonia (Live at Rome Olympic Stadion 2013) Butterflies and Hurricanes

A lot of people liken Matt to Thom Yorke of Radiohead, and there is some influence there... But Matt absolutely channeled his inner Jeff Buckley to a tee. Very "Grace' like - especially the end wail. Great song.

If you heard Black Holes & Revelations from Twilight then you heard Neutron Star Collision. Plug In Baby - Crucify my enemies = I use music and resonance + my guitar (my plug in baby) to overcome the nefarious forces. This plug in baby (electric guitar) is his axe/sword, his weapon.

This song live in Rome olympic stadium with the who stadium jumping to it is just amazing to see! Also the performance of Knights of Cydonia on that same show is something i recommend you to check out. Further they have so many great music! My favorite song is Citizen Erased tied with Assasin. But i would also recommend songs like Hysteria, Ghosts, Unintended, the Globalist, City of Delusion, Bliss, Reapers, New Born, Thought Contagion, Butterflies and Hurricanes, Stockholm Syndrome, Exogenesys: Symphony part 1,2 and 3, Thoughts of a dying atheist, Hyper music or also Hyper chondriac music.... To name but a few😂 But there are even more to check out! They are my favorite band and have seen them live only 9 times now.

Even if you never listen to another Muse song here, do yourself a favor and go see them live. They are one of the best live bands. They go hard anyhow, but Bellamy (guitar/vocals) goes absolutely nuts in a concert. Adrenaline bomb!

I really loved the first few Muse albums, they kinda started to change with Black Holes and Revelations and aren't really for me any more, but I still have all their old stuff, Hysteria especially is GREAT

Yup, they peaked with the Absolution album for me. I didn't buy anything of theirs from The Resistance onwards, but still try to catch them live when they are in the area... Still an incredible live experience.

Here’s the official meaning from Matt himself: “Again, that’s about the path evolution can take like ‘New Born’. There’s the good side and the bad side; abandoning all individuality, becoming a collective whole via cables, and genetically engineering bodies that can exist out in space, or the loss of individualism.”

Muse is one of the greatest bands of the last 25 years. They have a very diverse catalogue and no song sounds like other songs. I suggest you branch out and explore their other songs if this one, arguably one of their fans favorites, does not appeal to you. They aren't for everyone, just people who have impeccable tastes in music

@Rayactions this is my first time watching but loved your kingdom video and this one. The idea of the song, written in the 90s using the riff which was a previous live jam, something Matt does a lot, is as follows. Scary to think how switched on he was in the 90s as he explained lockdown perfectly. Basically, Matt believed right back from the 90s that we would live in private cells and never have to leave, we would plug in to experiences and like old Bill Hicks jokes, the only people outside would be food delivery drivers. So back in the 90s, Matt described a plug in baby, the onlyfans effect where we'd basically all have sex toys and order a performer to do what we want sexually. Hence eradicating the need for a sexual relationship. Post lockdown, the plug in baby is a very real thing as the song explains how some now live their lives. Matt was always a bit of a Nostradamus when he was more prog and less money oriented
