This performance was 5 years ago, you should hear what he sings like today! The greatest vocalist and performer of ALL time. He sings in all genres and 13 languages. Dimash has just turned 28 and he’s from Kazakhstan. BTW this is not the greatest performance that Dimash has done of this song, if you can believe that! Dimash is also a composer, (this song is a cover from a very famous French song from the 70’s), and he plays 7 musical instruments. He has two degrees in vocals, Classical and Contemporary, a masters in composition (perfect score on that one) and he is coming to the end of his doctorate in Musicality. He has been classically trained since the age of 5 when he was found to have perfect pitch, he was also winning piano competitions at that young age. His mother is a famous opera singer and his dad is a famous pop singer/ music producer in Kazakhstan. Dimash sings like both of them (but obviously better)! He currently has a range of over 7 octaves, every register is beautiful! His lower registers are amazing!

Small correction. Sveta isn't an opera singer. She is a soprano and like Dimash trained with Marat Aitimov many moons ago, so she has classical training. She however sings contemporary music.

Music is subjective, so the use of "GOAT" is misused. I'm happy for you that you feel that way, but I write this because I don't. I'm not saying he's untalented because obviously he is really talented and a master of his instrument. The fact that he sings 7 octaves most of the time in the same song makes him more of a circus act in the vein of Cirque du Soleil. That vocal style of exercise isn't something I appreciate (& I'm not saying he does it all the time but way too often to interest me). Not sure if you're familiar with a KZfaqr named Rick Beato who is a musician, university professor, recording producer who has written several courses, one of which is how to learn how to have perfect pitch. He backs up that claim with videos of him teaching his son how to achieve that skill. And there are other vocalists who have that skill, one being Floor Jansen and while I don't pretend to suggest that she has Dimash's range, she too is a master of her instrument. Good information about his skill and background. And look Sue - I accept you have strong opinions but this is not an argument okay? Just how I feel about it because I respect your view and though I did take issue with GOAT I explained why I do. There is no one to compare Dimash to - he stands alone.

@@bertjones3010 You obviously don't know Dimash's repertoire. Most of his songs don't have a wide range at all. They are just amazingly beautiful soulful moving songs sung in an amazingly beautiful voice with heart wrenching emotion. And yes, in some of the songs (the minority. if to count, although they are the ones that almost always are reacted to), he uses wider range, just as I am sure that Floor uses hers, although it is more limited. And why the hell not? To be given such an instrument and to never use it? Perhaps a dancer should limit his dancing moves if his abilities are higher than the other dancers? It is the dumbest thing on earth. Dimash makes us cry and heals our souls. Not because of his range, but because of his story telling and emotion. Range is just one of the instruments he uses, in some of his songs. The song SOS, for example, was specifically composed and written for a singer with a wide range because its meaning is in the contrasts between highs and lows, both physical and emotional. The protagonist is depressed feeling rooted on the ground and wishes to be a bird and fly to the sky, because the earth might look more beautiful from above. For many, nobody transmits this message and exemplifies this emotional roller coaster of ups and downs of a man close to despair more accurately and beautifully than Dimash does/ If you can't feel it, it's your personal perception. The fact is that millions can feel it, in every atom of their body and soul. Over 3 years I listen to various versions of this (and many other Dimash's songs) daily for hours, and they make me cry each and every time. There are many singers out there that don't move me (and none moves me like Dimash does, not even close), but I would never go under their video and write that because i understand that it is only my subjective perception and that doesn't mean that they just sing without feeling. The feelings that they produce move others and I respect that. If your issue is with range (although, as I explained, I don't see logic in this) Dimash has so many songs that don't display wide range or any kind of vocal acrobatics that if you aren't familiar with them perhaps you should be before you judge, or if you are familiar with them but still write those things, then you are simply unfair.

@@DiaLinwen glad you like him, and I know enough to have made a decision quite awhile ago. But thanks for thinking of me. Not sure why you won't accept the fact that musical tastes are subjective. Yes, You have been Dimashed. Yes, Dimash Kudaibergen has been trained since he was 5, for about 20 years straight. University trained. After he graduated, he was offered a position in the Astana opera, he declined and has continued his studies at the university. This was from The Singer, a competition for established musicians in China, by request only. He was the wildcard. Can you image the person who had to take the stage after him? Please continue to react to all the episodes of the Singer in the order they were sung. Just to give you a hint, this is a great song, but hes got MORE, seriously MORE, and Yes, he awakens the soul, even in people who dont believe they have one. Enjoy the ride!

Just imagine, with 22 years being from Kazakhstan (speaking Russian and Kazakh), invited to a Chinese reality show as a wild card, facing other singers with professionally established trajectories, and inaugurating the first episode of that year (2017), singing a song in French which the producers opposed, but Dimash insisted on singing it, going to sleep and waking up without knowing it with 600 million followers and winning that first episode. That's Dimash. Dimash, perhaps the best singer ever born on this planet. You are only scratching the surface of this enormous Kazakh talent and genius. I subscribe and greetings from Panama.

Dimash is from Kazakhstan. He just turned 28 this wk. He has been in formal music education/ training since age 5 and still trains 3 hrs daily (with a trainer if possible). He sings 7 octaves and 9 semi tones in 13 languages and plays 8 instruments. His 1st album went platinum in 37 SECONDS and triple in under an hour. He has a massive worldwide fanbase. Right before covid hit he played a sold out concert in NY where fans came from 68 countries to see him. No other artist could do that. Hes an extremely humble, kind, respectful and loving man. Some of my recommendations are OLIMPICO with Igor Krutoy. LOVE IS LIKE A DREAM. SINFUL PASSION. ACROSS ENDLESS DIMENSIONS. Btw he has multiple degrees in music and is working on his PHD. He sings multiple genres including pop, opera and what he refers to as neo-classical. He even raps and is even good at that. Enjoy the ride. You react to Dimash and his Dears (what he calls his fans) will be there.

He’s been training since the age of 5, has a 6-8 octave range (depending on who you ask) has absolute pitch, and is an amazingly humble man. He sings every genre (even raps) He has many recent performances, but I would highly recommend "Sinful Passion" 2018, "Adagio" 2017, "Unforgettable Day" at Gakku, "Diva Dance" at Bastau 2017, "Stranger" 2021, "Ikanaide" 2021 and "Ave Maria" 2021, Each performance will leave you stunned. Confessa/Diva Dance is the MOST DRAMATIC version from the I AM SINGER 2017. In 2018, he returned to the I AM SINGER as a guest and alongside the Super Vocal Group does a magnificent job of a Queen medley. In 2017 in the SINGER competition, please react to ADAGIO. He has so many masterpieces. It’s not fair to compare Dimash with other wonderful singers because he is in a class of his own. Heavily influenced by Igor Krutoy, Lara Fabian and Michael Jackson in his early childhood, he never ceases to be utterly amazing. Gloria Wu’s channel provides background history on true life tragedies such as DAYBREAK, WAR and PEACE (he composed as a teenager), DAIDIDAU. He composed at least 11 songs including My Belle (Beauty) see the 2012 MV. Even SOS, he became aware of the history of it when he was still a young teenager and was so moved by the tragic life of Gregory Lamarchell, who won a French Academy song competition with SOS, that Dimash phoenetically learned the French song and went to France and sang it to the Academy in tribute of Gregory. SOS was from the popular French rock opera STARMANIA that had a depressing subject. The French Canadian lyricist, Luc Plemodon, wrote SOS as a distraught young man lamenting the overdose/suicide of his lover which at the end of the song, he is at peace as he bids his lover to sleep 😴

He became an overnight sensation and blew up in China and on KZfaq! I discovered him just a week later when he covered Vitas' song Opera 2. 😂 All of those contestants are professional singers/performers. The Singer is a show for only established artists and Dimash was invited as a Wild Card, because he was just starting his career in Kazakhstan. He was the first foreigner invited to participate and the youngest at the time. ❤ And they made the mistake of having him go first! 😂 I can't possibly pick just one cinematic soundtrack! Dimash is Asian not Chinese. He was brought in as a wildcard. That producer thought Dimash would perform 1 or 2 weeks then go home. Also, some other videos of this track had some of the relationship of Dimash and the producer. He had other ideas and told Dimash if the audience didn’t get into his performance he would lose. Dimash was first to sing for the season. They and the producer didn’t know what they were getting into. My guess is that the producer thought he was going to get a pop performance out of Dimash and in practice didn’t like dimashs pauses. This genre is known as popopera. All of the Chinese running this show, performers and audience like you didn’t know what a Dimash was. And, by the end and in the morning when new fans showed up at the show Dimash had to have bodyguards. What they didn’t know that Dimash had just finished his several masters and was in his doctorate, phd. That means All of the performance arts that it to to make that show and performance Dimash either created or collabed. Dimash was a character in this sad song but what the grips and the cameramen did with the audience they were a character in the song too. The music you liked so well…Dimash played 8 instruments at this time too. He could have written the music score or worked it out by ear notes with the number system you as a producer know about. Also Dimash sings currently (5yrs later) in 15 languages Japanese being the newest one according to Wikipedia you’ll also find there in his bio he started his career at 2 yrs old, singing on stage, winning his first piano contest and his grandmother who raised him as is custom in his culture putting him in the academy of music at the university all at age 5 yrs old.

We are fortunate to live during the time of Dimash. At a very young age he is redefining what's possible in the use of the voice, the range, the different tones, and how the technical part of what's possible could possibly translate into emotion and awe. This is a rabbit hole you owe to yourself to explore. Yes, you will be invaded by subscriptions from the "dears" (what Dimash calls his fans), who are some of the most loyal fans around. But it will take many reactions to many of his masterpieces before you realize the vastness of his talent. It will truly be an experience akin to peeling an onion, one layer at a time. And during that time, he just keeps improving in everything. He never stops working hard. Every day. And he never changes his character no matter how big he gets. No wonder his fans absolutely adore him.

Nothing like this show in U.S. Dimash now has multiple millions of fans around the globe, he now has a 7+ octave range, one song to hear a lot of that range is "Love is like a Dream" ....Forget the older performances, go to his YT channel and you will find so many performances that are newer and have high production features. Thank you for such a sincere and genuine reaction. You actually 'get him'. You felt it! That thing that the rest of us feel too when we listen to Dimash. I am so so happy!! I also loved the fact that you noticed the musicians in the background. They are the best of the best. Every one of those musicians in the orchestra applauded Dimash at the end of the performance. The man in the black T-shirt standing up with his mouth hanging open was one of those very experienced musicians - who have been playing for the biggest singers in China for years. They were as stunned as the audience. The audience were the judges, 500 well educated people from all parts of the music business. Dimash was nervous. He was the very first person on stage for the first episode of this Chinese singing competition, a TV show called The Singer, and he was singing before already established professional Chinese singers (the people listening to him in the back room). They were astounded, and in some cases horrified, to hear what this young unknown guy from Kazakhstan could do. In fact this prodigy had already won every singing competition he had entered from a young age. He was 5 years old when he first went to a music academy. He loves music and singing so much that he says if you cut him open you'd find music all the way through. He sings at least 3 hrs a day (usuallly more), swims under water to improve his lung capacity and loves to play sports and games with his mates. Although he looks rather small and slight on stage, he is actually 6ft 3 ins tall. He has a red belt in martial arts, is a good soccer player and can play 7 musical instruments. He speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently, and is learning Mandarin and English. He sings in several other languages phonetically (like opera singers do) and has so far sung in 14 different languages. He is very smart, respectful, humble, grateful, funny, kind and loving to everyone but especially his family, friends and fans. This guy is the whole package in human form. Find out more and you'll probably agree. Welcome to Dimashland, you're in for a hell of a ride.

It was very funny to see the progression starting from your honest skepticism, to astonishment, then to "what is going on?", and finally to your "I have to control my emotions, I am filmed...". I didn't have to, so I did let all the emotion and tears explode, and that felt so good, like a cleaning and at the same time, rebirth of my soul (I think some traumas from childhood came up from hiding in my subconscience...lol). Continue with the same honesty and sincerety brother...;, especially with someone like this "too much hardworking and perfectionist kid", with whom there is no need for any kind of "over-reacting" or "exagereaction"... lol See you soon.

Dimash took us all like that at the beginning and he still affects us like that today. Whether he's up in the rafters vocally or singing in those velvety rich lower tones it's just as mesmerising. Buckle up for the ride of your life as you've seen nothing yet. He is the master of his craft whether he's singing opera, pop, Kazakh folk songs or even rapping. As he's gotten older he's only got better and better.

Welcome to the World of Dimash. You ain't heard nuthin' yet! 28yo, classically-trained since the age of 5; 7-octave + 2 semi-tones range (C1 to D8, sustained...one note OFF the piano!!) Dimash is from Kazakhstan, and was invited to this "Singer 2017" competition as a foreign entry. His mother is an opera singer and his father is a pop singer, both of much renown in their country. You are going to be deluged with suggestions for reaction to his performances from his "Dears" (what he calls his fans). And your subs will be taking a major leap upward...guaranteed. You may want to check out "Love is Like a Dream", "Stranger", "Ogni Pietra" (Olympico w/Igor Krutoy) and "Unforgettable Day" (Gakku version, where he sings his D8 whistle notes.) Sorry you missed his usual "Thank you" to the orchestra after this performance...he's quite a humble young man, as well as being the greatest vocalist I have ever heard in my 80 years on this planet! Hoping to watch your progress on your Dimash journey.

At 22, he was the youngest participant in the history of the show and competed with professional and best-selling Chinese singers as a competitor to the wild card." I'm a Singer" This is not "The Voice", it's a competition of already known and talented singers.Adding that the organizers keep secret the names of the participants - quite famous singers. Dimash was the youngest of them. Its organizers invited him themselves.Dimash sang "SOS d'un terrien en détresse" in the competition he was supposed to sing first. There were eight singers, it will go on to seven. Dimash passed. Each day, one participant receives a cup and one leaves the project. There are 14 cups in total. This means that you have to take part in 14 turns. The winner is the one who receives the most cups. New singers join along the way.The peculiarity of the project is that the cameras in real mode observe your every move, film how you eat, how you behave In 2017, Dimash's competitors were very strong, experienced singers, multiple winners of the "China Music World", "M T V Awards" and others. The peculiarity of this show is that the singer is not limited to performing the song on stage, he is constantly under real-time supervision. The main requirements for the singer in the project "I am a Singer": 1. A singer must win the hearts of the audience. 2. He has to show his new face every time. 3. To perform in a new style, in a new genre. 4. Sing Live. The winner in each round is selected by 500 spectators aged 20-60 sitting in the hall. Each viewer has the right to vote for three singers. These 500 viewers no longer vote in other rounds. In each turn, the singers receive a total of 1,500 votes. In the first round, Dimash received 78% of the votes, ie 1170 votes out of 1500 !!!After January 21, they lost the possibility of a "normal" walk in China! The fans don't let us do that, they're everywhere. By the way, a group of fans enrolled in Kazakh language courses to understand Dimash's native language.

I have to say, Tony... I thoroughly enjoyed your introduction to Dimash. This is the perfect introductory song to Dimash, but it's just a little teaser. While impressive, it only showcases a tiny part of his vocal abilities. And that was from 5 years ago. Dimash is much better now. In spite of his accomplishments and fame, he's one of the most respectful and modest artists you'll ever see. He calls his fans "Dears", as they are very dear to him. If I were to guess, I'd say you became an instant Dear. Looking forward to seeing more Dimash reactions from you. We "Dears" love to see people discovering Dimash, and especially enjoy watching them being mind-blown... performance after performance. You'll soon know exact what I mean. Buckle up, and enjoy the ride!!!

We love Dimash in the USA! Many Americans have been following his career for years. His first solo concert in the USA was in a sold-out arena in NYC. It was 2019, not long before the pandemic shut down all touring and concerts. His touring resumed recently, with full arenas in Dubai, Dusselfdorf and Prague. I hope he'll make it back to the USA in 2023.

You have just barely scratched the surface of Dimash's art of singing. To fully understand the capabilities of his voice and how he is using it to interpret a song, you have to dive down the rabbit hole of his performances from this one, which brought him instant fame in China to the latest masterpieces. On your way, there are songs like Sinful Passion, Unforgettable Day, Screaming, Love Of Tired Swans, Love Is Like A Dream, Your Love, Know, Passione, Across Endless Dimensions, Qairan Elim, Samaltau, Be With Me, and Ikanaide, and each one of them will blow your mind in a different way. SOS d'un terrien en détresse is still in Dimash's repertoire, it has become his signature song, and in the latest incarnation (Dimash Digital Show 2021), you will see just how much he has improved from 2017, and how intricate the arrangement has become (with some snippets of good drumming for your pleasure). You will surely enjoy Dimash's percussionist, which is prominently featured in Sinful Passion (most viewed video), Know Vocalise (Kiev 2020), and SOS (Digital Show 2021). Favorite cinematic music: Across Endless Dimensions by Dimash for the SciFi fantasy movie Creators: The Past, and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly by the Danish Symphony Orchestra.

Oh now you've done it... First you summoned the Nightwish Army, now the Dimash Dears 😂 I hope both these artists help your channel grow super fast. Great reaction, too. Most of the performances I've seen of Dimash on KZfaq are with live musicians, and it's really cool to hear about the arrangement and what the instrumentalists are doing as well, since most reactions to Dimash are obviously vocal teachers. Also this was my reaction to Dimash as well when I first heard him... Instant tears, utter disbelief, transformative. Video question: there are soooooo many good soundtracks/scores out there, but my absolute favorite is Gladiator. After that would be Snow Falling on Cedars and Jane Eyre (2011). I keep coming back to those!

This was his first international performance on the 2017 I Am Singer competition in China. Full orchestra plus ethnic instruments. All his previous competitions were in Kazakh and Russian/Ukranian festivals - pretty much home turf. This is the one big Chinese competition for pros only. He got a very unusual foreigner wildcard, possibly the first ever. First song of the first night of the 13 week competition. The audience are the judges and must be wowed or you are gone. And millions of TV and online viewers. Total views were around 600 million. His first high volume multimedia performance. So super high pressure. Luckily he was massively over-prepared with 17 years of professional voice training. The pressure did show slightly. Did you see that little half smile of relief in the pause after the big run? That is the only time I've seen him break character during a song. The audience was completely silent because they were totally hooked/shocked.

This is a singing competition in China. Dimash is the first contestant up, none of these people have ever heard him before, and none of the competitors backstage. This was the first time Dimash was introduced to the world. He is the youngest competitor at only 22 years of age. Dimash just turned 28 a few days ago. He is 6’ 3 1/4” tall, holds 2 Masters Degrees and a PhD in Contemporary & Classical voice, Composition and Musicology. He plays 7 instruments, sings in 15 languages, and has a Black Belt in Karate. Quite a résumé. He is from Kazakhstan, and his mother is an Opera Singer and his father is also a singer. Dimash began voice and music lessons from the age of 5. This song, SOS is from a 1979 French Rock Opera and was very popular. Dimash has sung from a B0 up to a D8 which is his incredible range.

He did the same thing to me last year when I first reacted to this on my channel. It has made such a difference in my life- That sounds really dramatic, but it is truth! Not only for the Amazing "Dears" that were drawn to my first reaction to Dimash, but from him and his uncanny ability to continue to WOW me! I will let the die hards fill you in on his ENDLESS talents and background info but will give you a few suggestions. (for what it's worth) Try "Opera 2" and the Official MV of "Be with me" to get a sense of his light-hearted fun side (Think Jackie Chan meets 007 in "Be with me") Or Confessa/Diva Dance (Diva Dance is the song the blue alien sang in "the 5th Element"- created in studio in parts and put together so that no "human" could sing it) Until Dimash! Also, "Stranger", "Ikainade", For an Angelic moment- "Ave Maria" the list is ENDLESS! Anyway, it looks like you;re off to a great start here- If I can help, don't hesitate to ask... It's only been a year for me, but I have learned a lot, (how to deal with copyright, get higher SEO etc) My channel is "The Speak Easy Lounge", if you care to pop in. Best of luck going forward! Hi from Spain 🇪🇦. Great reaction, thanks! I love people reacting to Dimash for the first time. Dimash is the best voice in the universe, ever! He's from Kazakhstan and has been studying music since he was 5 years old. He's got a PhD in classical and contemporary music, and he's in a league on his own doing crossover music. He also plays multiple instruments and sings in up 12 languages... I went to see him live in Prague on April 16 this year and it was an incredible, unique experience that exceeded all my expectations (how was even possible?!) Please keep reacting to this amazing artist and we (his fans, called also Dears) will follow your reactions. You can continue with his songs in this Chinese competition called 'I'm a singer' (that was in 2017) so you can go chronologically. He does different covers, like Queen's "The show must go on", which I love (Freddy Mercury has been my favourite singer, and he'd have been sooo proud of this version from Dimash..), also Adagio, (so moving!) etc...But it really doesn't matter, everything he sings it's AMAZING! And not only his voice is outstanding but also his powerful emotions that touch your soul and his stage presence...and now that he's 28, he's even better and his range much bigger! Welcome to the Dimash's Universe my dear! 💜&☮️

Hello, my friend! Did Dimash surprise you? He surprises everyone! And many at first think that his voice is being processed, tone modulation on the microphone or some other change. But-no! This is really Dimash's voice! He stated in an interview that, in principle, he does not use a phonogram or any electronic voice changes - he only sings live and only through a simple microphone. And participating in the Chinese contest "I am a singer", Dimash sang accompanied by a Chinese orchestra.

You should have watched a bit further, as he thanks the musicians. I think that as a multi instrumentalist, he is always very appreciative of them. I agree with you on Dances with Wolves, the other one I really like is The good, the bad and the ugly. There is a fantastic performance of this by the Danish National Symphony Orchestra that is getting a lot of reviews. As for Dimash, you only just scratching the surface with what he is capable of.

I just LOOOOOVE newbies! And just to let you know....that shock NEVER goes away. Dimash sings rock, opera, raps, pop....he does everything! And you have heard NOTHING yet. He goes MUCH lower, and even HIGHER. He's super humble. He is THE most amazing performer on the planet. He puts all of his energy, emotion, and training into everything he does. He loves his country, Kazakhstan, he loves his tight knit family, and he loves his Dears(the name he coined for us fans!). He speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently and is learning Mandarin and English right now. He has sung in 15 languages, plays 7 instruments, and is currently getting his Master's in Music Theory. This was the song that made him famous instantly overnight. Truly my suggestion would be to watch some more of the 14 songs that he did during this show called The Singer in China, then later you can see how he has miraculously improved from THAT amazing performance, which is so hard to believe that he could actually get better! The top one for me? which will blow you away? Adiago. Here is the link. I would love to see your reaction.kzfaq.info/get/bejne/m8ehZZeAzdGmgnk.html Also, make sure to always watch until the end of the video so you can see how he is so considerate to his band and his Dears and how humble he is.❤❤❤OH! Answer to your question? It's a tie between Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones.🤍🤍

Running out of words is very common when watching Dimash for the first time! And watching new people discover him is so much fun that as you can see, there are a lot of us who are very happy to do it over and over again! It's like watching someone open a wonderful present that they don't expect while knowing exactly what's inside the box yourself! So many more wonderful songs to discover! Enjoy!

Your emotional reaction also made me tear up a bit. It brought me back to the first time I heard this exact song/video over four years ago. Like you, I was a musician/singer in a rock/metal band many, many years ago. His high run towards the end of the song literally made me feel like the top of my head was going somewhere else. As a musician, you will get so much out of investigating Dimash and his music. Not long after that, he has a composer that writes songs that only Dimash can sing. Enjoy your journey. It will inspire you.
