As YG stans we’re not surprised with the structure of the song because it’s the YG signature. And YG always has the girl crush and hip hop concept ever since their 1st gen gg

Usually when someone says "This reminds me of BP" that is usually a signal that it actually isn't BP's signature, it's what's known in the K-Pop Industry as the "YG Style" if you watch each YG group (BIGBANG/2NE1/BP/iKon/Treasure/BM) They all have a very similar style/beat/general progression of songs

I think it's very different from Blackpink, try to pay attention, Babymonster (BM) always harmonizes in every song, they do it with more than 3 members. Blackpink(BP) rarely harmonizes, even if they do, they only have 2 members. BM members don't use layers behind their original sound, while BP always uses layers throughout their songs. Third, every BM vocalist can play high notes, try to pay attention every time they sing. What you mean by the same as BP is the genre, because YG's agency has set the same genre for BM and BP.

As Blackpink sounds like 2ne1. Its actually the YG beats and song structure (pre-chorus followed by a massive beatdrop or anti-drop, then the party outro). This aint exclusive to Blackpink.

@@cannycounter I understand that but I've seen many fans try to dictate how reactors should react and what they should pay attention to. Atleast OP here was being nice but I've seen some comments who've been very intense, criticizing heavily on what a reacting person said, or the way they react, and then calling them haters for having different taste and opinion. I understand people are tired that BM is being compared to BP but if YG doesn't really change their formula from a group to another, can you blame people for thinking they sound very similar? It's not a bad thing, but it's bound to happen. Valen and Theo were very polite and respectful, they enjoyed the song, some parts were better than others. I think it should be a compliment to be compared to BP.

@@DreamieQueenYes, the girls said that it is an honor that BlackPink are their elders and Ahyeon said that she feels honored to be called the little Jennie, but to say that she looks alike is not fair, and the video was more BM, BlackPink is rude but Rosita Also what could have been a BlackPink song is Batter Up, since there you can see the rudeness but Rosita too, on the other hand, Sheesh is darker and has nothing of Rosita in it. I also see many Blinks that say that Sheesh is the same as Love to hate me and that is ridiculous since the time and the melody are not the same, the only similar thing is that electronic sound in the second verse of the pre goring more, I love BlackPink, I love them a lot and I admire them but this is already getting tired and ridiculous from some Blinks. I hope they stop comparing them since both groups have talent and are from the same company😍❤

Yes we are tired watching other KZfaqrs comparing BM to BP. I mean I'm a blink too but they have differences. BP are phenomenal the way they are. BM also, if you watch all their individual performances they are very different 🥲🥲 They're all amazing🥲🥲 Maybe what you mean is, it is yg coded. From Bigbang to BM. YG has the same formula. That's why each of their group from male to female shines with their own genre because of YG

But the music is similar and the style of clothes is similar nobody says that are the same of course they have differences. 2ne1, black pink and baby monster all have that tough girl crush sound that’s fine but let’s not act like they aren’t very very similar in concept and sound.they do have differences I think baby monster has more interesting melodies and singing moments than blackpink but so far they haven’t really made an identity that can be separated from blackpink yet.

Blackpink and Babymonster may have the same style and musicality because of the fact that they’re both from YG, but really, they are different from Blackpink. You should check out Babymonster’s Last Evaluation series, to see how distinct they are. And they spelled B.A.B.Y.M.O.N on the song because it’s a significant that they are back at being OT7, because Ahyeon is back.

You'll also be impressed that of the top 50 MVs in 5th generation by Kpop groups most YT views in 24hours, Babymonster holds the top 3 spots (sheesh had 24.5 million) and also holds #11. They are putting up numbers similar to their predecessors and breaking records, even their own records, with every new MV release. Keep an eye on them. They might eclipse, you know who just like the moon is going to eclipse the sun on April 9th.

Somehow many people who are doing that talking bad about BabyMonster by comparing them to Blackpink don't realize that is a good thing and even the girls appreciate it as a compliment. It's like trying to insult a new NFL Quarterback by saying he is just like Tom Brady - not an insult. It is also like saying to a girl who idolizes her older sister, "You look and sound like your sister" - not an insult. Many similarities with video are also Location. That same castle was used for scenes in DDDD second chorus, Kill This Love Jisoo arrow scene, and How You Like That ending. This group is set on showing that they can pull off any concept and genre of music so I am really looking forward to what they are going to do over the next decade. They are also so sweet and nice like Blackpink. One thing YG got right with Blackpink and BabyMonster is telling them to be themselves and authentic. So many other companies do not do that. One of the many reasons both BP & BM fans love these 11 girls, they are who they say they are.

My God, I don't understand why so many people are angry when they say that the song reminds them of Blackpink, and that makes perfect sense because when many people look at YG, Blackpink's face always appears, because Blackpink attracted more international fans than any other group in the company, that's why they commented about Blackpink and not 2ne1, and they are not orbigated to investigate the company's history to react to a group, of course over time they will learn more about the group. And it's no offense when they said that BM reminds them of Blackpink, I don't know why you are so upset because even the girls themselves are happy when people say that they look like the girls from Blackpink. It's these types of unnecessary comments that make people stop reacting to a group.

This! Like we literally just had a conversation about not feeling hyped about reacting to Babymonster when we legit can't open our mouths without a significant minority of comments going crazy. (We had to delete some really nasty stuff from the comment section😅) It's sad how some groups seem to attract these types of "fans" to the detriment of the actual group who has nothing to do with it.

@@valenandtheo You are absolutely right in not wanting to react more to the group, even if I were in your place I would think the same. The funniest thing is that these comments are not made by BM fans, but rather BM haters posing as fans. I believe that if these “fans” told you to investigate more about the BM company, they know very well about the company's history and they know that the Blackpink girls have already been compared to 2ne1 and they never saw any harm in that, because even Lisa herself had 2ne1's CL as inspiration. If even the BM girls are inspired by the Blackpink girls. And who wouldn't be happy when someone said that you remember their “inspiration”, basically this type of comment shows that you are almost on the same level as the person you have great admiration for.

I think you guys meant YG style or YG coded music and MV. YG originally and still is very much known as a HIP HOP company. Now they also have very unique and versatile artists in their company, but at the same time you know they are YG because either they have similar outros or even if groups like WINNER and AKMU who has title tracks that is not punch you in the face hip hop, they still also have that care free, fun, and fierce YG attitude/swag. BABYMONSTER has been introduced as a group that has the GENES OF YG..basically a good combination of the YG senior artists and their very own identity and color. I’ve always said BABYMONSTER’s vocal line is very much like BIG MAMA.. a 1st gen.vocal heavy girl group in YG..with soul and r&b vocals. The rap line is also a mix of old and new rap styles. Ruka, the rapper in the yellow has a similar rap style and energy as 2NE1 (the legendary original girl crush girl group of YG). Ahyeon the other rapper wearing the white and blue outfit has a very cool confidence and rap style kind of like western female rappers aka Nicki Minaj/Cardi B. Asa the 3rd rapper is the skillful spitfire of the rap line, she raps so fast and clear which is the rap preference that many like in this generation. But of course they will have their own color and identity as BABYMONSTER.

The beat of the song is like Blackpink's how do you like that, and some of the song lyrics are taken from the YG group, "pedal to the metal" from Treasure, "All eyes on me" from Jisoo, "Rum Pum Pum" from Blackpink kill this love, and The beat dance break is like a shut down from Blackpink too 😅

I mean, we do analyze and review it.😅 A part of our review is that it reminds us a lot of Blackpink because it does, and most people online say the same, but for very odd reasons, some fans take offense to this fact. At no point in the video, could a person ever get the idea that there is something wrong with doing the same genre as Blackpink, but some commenters are just looking for trouble🫤. Luckily though, 90% of comments are nice and positive, but being honest does attract some delulu people at times😆
