Instead of focusing on the notes, focus on the interpretation, the emotions. Who cares what notes he hits? Dimash is a vocal artist, not a vocal acrobat. I don't understand this reaction at all. Those who treat Dimash as vocal acrobat miss the entire point for me. He does what is necessary for interpreting the song, not for displaying his entire range in each and every song. It's a shame some dears are focused on presenting to reactors his range instead of his entire artistry.

So true 👍🏻the notes the mix voice, linked with the head voice and then if you want a whistle it must be homogeneous, but come on, a vocal coach should know that better than me. 😅 Greetings

@@fischi9129 I like Dimash's interpretation better, it's more in tune with the lyrics. The song is more about contemplation and gentle melancholy sadness of somebody who is happy at the moment, but understands that nothing in life is permanent, and not about some great tragedy that already happened. Dimash's performance is much more emotionally nuanced and fitting the lyrics in my opinion. Of course Tamaki had his own interpretation, but more tragic doesn't necessarily means better or more sensitive in this case. The lyricist of the song specifically said that Dimash understood and interpreted the lyrics perfectly. The lyricist said that this song is a kind of a prayer and that every repetition of Ikanaide is supposed to carry a different meaning and be expressed in a different way, and Dimash seems the only one who understood that. I actually appreciate that Dimash makes his own interpretation according to his own (very accurate) understanding of the lyrics and not just copies the original.

For us, Dears.. We don't give much importance to notes and range... We know he can hit every single note possible by humans... We love him for emotions, dedication, passion, showmanship, and most importantly, his love for us.. For the reaction, I really don't think you can spot improvement by just watching two songs, one old and one new.. Try Stranger or Ave Maria or even Olympico.. Thank you.

Dimash sings songs with emotional meaning. This song is the true story of a Japanese woman who left Japan during the second world War. She changed her name and moved to China. She was an entertainer, and the Chinese loved her, but after the war was over, her true identity was exposed, and those who once loved her scorned her, and deported her back to Japan, never to see China ever again. So sad.

Dimash is the best singer in the WORLD and there are no doubts about that, his voice is a prodigy of nature and a genetic marvel since his parents are two glories of singing from Kazakhstan since he was 5 years old, he sings publicly and has more than twenty years of lyrical training and graduated from the university of music, he is a singer, composer, arranger and multi instrumentalist, he plays more than seven musical instruments and sings in more than Ten(10) languages, he is also a great performer and a great artist who lives and feels music He is not an imitator of voices , Dimash has his own style and is one of the forerunners of the "POPera" he also has a very pleasant, HUMBLE and simple personality, easy access, which makes it very easy to follow, he always travels with His family and friends is a very educated person and an example to follow, he has become known for his musical talent not for getting into trouble or scandals, It has a very wide vocal range of approximately 7 octaves ,he is a singer with a wide vocal range very versatile is Baritone, TENOR , Soprano, counter TENOR, mezasoprano, everything at the same time is how to have 5 singers in one, it has a male and female voice, also many resources such as vibrato, "melismas", falsetto, Staccato, whistle tone, reaching a( D8 )live "Outside of Piano"at the concert of Gakku in an unforgettable day, at his young age he continues to improve and grow musically to perfection, he has a good physical presence he measures 191 cm or 6 "3", he is very famous and recognized in Asia and now he is becoming known In Europe and America, ALL their songs are spectacular, it always goes from low to high, soft to spectacular at the end, in my almost half a century of life I never heard so much quality and it is the hope of continuity of the classical genre because all the old tenors have already Almost all of them died and Dimash can sing like them but none of them can sing like Dimash, being a Man he sings better than any Tenor and his female voice is superior to that of any average Soprano, greetings and a hug from USA 🇺🇸 "Dears" Forever ❤️ Sorry for copying and pasting my informative comment in ALL the Video reactions to Dimash what I see but I do it with the intention of sharing information about him and what I think that in the music industry there are many artists who have been successful and have no talent and are bad people and they do not set a good example for the youth, Dimash and his music deserve to triumph in America, Europe and the whole WORLD, do you want to have already read my comment please come by without problem there is always someone who for the first time knows this information and I won't get tired of sharing it with all my friends"Dear" around the world, thanks for reading and for supporting Dimash 🙏🏻S.O.S. I think it is important to remember that Dimash has been training his entire voice for more than 20 years, and his entire voice is astounding. It is natural for "newbies" to be blown away by his range, and seasoned Dears will be touched by the sensitivity of each note he sings. He, himself, reminds us that his range is a "tool", not the entirety of what he brings to his music.

Dimash usually uses his abilities to express the song he is singing in the way he's feeling it. Some songs are crazy vocal acrobatics, some are mellow and gentle. It depends on what emotions he's trying to portray. If you're looking for the first, you should react to "Stranger" at New Wave

This is the 1st song that Dimash has sung in Japanese. His abilities are incredible. He now has a 7+ octave range and his breath control in unmatched. His lower octaves are now rich and full and beautiful. His transitions are seamless. And his emotional connection is beautiful and touching. He is the best singer/vocalist on the planet. He sings multiple languages and genres. He is mesmerizing. Thank you for checking him out again. I would recommend 'Ave Maria' a new composition written for him by Igor Krutoy: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/o7J3a8pj1NWqg3U.html , and there are 2 performances of 'Stranger' that are mind boggling: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oqyjdZh5u9TRg3U.html and this one from Super Shine Bro.s where he was actually ill with rhinitis and awaiting surgery, which is why he doesn't hold the last note as long as in his original performance. But what is notably different is his crazy and amazing vocalize in the middle of 'Stranger': kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qs6Smsth1q_Xk30.html

He sang a version of this song with Chinese lyrics on the Singer in 2017, within a few weeks of the performance you are probably referring to, SOS. Quite aside from the fact that he had to master lyrics in a completely unfamiliar language, within the context of a weekly competition, that too was a remarkable performance. Looking back at some of his earlier performances, his appearance on the Singer coincided with the maturation of his high notes and his mix, which, even at the age of 22 he'd been working at for years. What has developed since then is his lower end, his use of breath, and his ability to employ his dazzling range with restraint and artistry, rather than just throwing it at the wall in every song. Making something authentic and emotional while covering 4 ½ octaves is no small task - there is no repertoire for that kind of range, and it is something that he has had to create, with the help of songwriters and arrangers who can rise to the challenge. I believe that remains a work in progress. With such immense technical ability, and versatility across different genres, he himself remains something of a mystery. Who is Dimash, and what is he trying to say to us? He is sensitive, emotional, and charismatic. Each of his appearances have become huge events in themselves, and his concerts sell out stadiums at very high prices. While such performances undoubtedly please his fans, they aren't particularly coherent as a body of work. He doesn't really make albums, for example, that cohere around any particular musical identity, personal statement, or philosophical idea. His public persona is restrained, carefully considered, and unfailingly polite, to the point of being somewhat anodyne. Barely anything is known about his personal life, his affections, his beliefs or his opinions. He loves his family, his country, his teachers and his fans - which is admirable, but none of them come without their challenges, complexities and tensions. It's often these tensions that give rise to creativity. In the West, for better and for worse, we are used to artists wearing their hearts on their sleeves to a much greater extent, identifying with particular causes, or challenging orthodoxies of one kind or another. Since the 1950s, popular music has often been a canvas for rebellion, protest and emancipation. Such movements are not so well tolerated in Russia, her former satellite states, or in China. Media is under very tight control by the State, dissenting voices are frowned upon, and artists can very easily be cancelled, or demonized, if they challenge the status quo. Social values are quite conservative, normative and sometimes openly hostile towards some minorities, such as LGBT, and the climate for self-expression has probably worsened in recent years. Such circumstances can be very difficult for any artist who aspires to speak truth unto power. Dimash is immensely popular in the Slavic world, and in Asia, and deservedly so. His ability is beyond question, and there is no doubt that he can make spectacular, beautiful music. He is only 27, so he is not yet in his full maturity. It's hard to see how he can improve technically; but what is less clear is how he develops as an artist, and as a man. The transition from precocious wunderkind, to a mature artist and fulfilled adult is not always easy. For all that Dimash has an extraordinary voice, and for all the octaves in his range and the colours in his timbre, I don't think we've yet heard 'his' voice, not fully. For such a young man, he carries a huge weight of expectation and responsibility, and while he has a team around him, the scrutiny and pressure is all on him. It's not an easy position to occupy, certainly not for an extended time, and it's also a hard place to grow. I hope he continues to flourish, and fulfils himself to his own satisfaction; and to that end, I hope he is given - or finds, or takes - the space and freedom that he needs to grow, and to change.

After, you may appreciate his humble attitude and hard work he puts into improving his abilities despite the fact how masterful he is. All for him to give 100% to his fans and listeners. Not to mention the variety of different styles of singing he mastered and he uses them in songs, making it sound unbelievably beautiful, to express the message of the story. His stage presents...shall I go on? LOL love your reactions! I'm looking forward witnessing your journey.

This was another enjoyable reaction. This is quickly becoming one if not the favorite Dimash performance for me and it invokes a very visceral response in me, just as "Ave Maria" did. Dimash sang “Ikanaide” for the Tokyo Jazz Festival in January of 2021 from what looks like his studio at home. According to several native Japanese speakers, Dimash’s pronunciation of the lyrics is nearly flawless. One native speaker, who gave a detailed analysis, stated that he is “expressing Japanese more (better) than Japanese” and that he does not only perfectly pronounce Japanese but “expresses Japanese…with Japanese emotion.”. Goro Matsui who wrote the lyrics to “Ikanaide” posted on his Twitter account that he has never heard a foreigner sing in Japanese in such a beautiful way. Tamaki Kōji composed the music and performed the song in 1989. "Ikanaide" became the title song for the Chinese-Japanese TV series “Farewell, Li Xianglan'', filmed that year. It is the story of Yoshiko Yamaguchi, a beloved Chinese-born Japanese actress, and singer during World War II, who hid her Japanese heritage under the name Li XIanglan. Following the war, when the Chinese became aware of her Japanese heritage, she was accused of being a spy and sentenced to death by firing squad for treason and collaboration with the Japanese; she had been involved in the production of Japanese propaganda films. Thanks to the intervention of influential friends she was cleared of all charges but urged to leave China or risk being lynched. She resettled in Japan where she would continue to enjoy a successful acting career. In the 1950s, she moved her acting career to Hollywood and Broadway under the name Shirley Yamaguchi but returned to Japan in 1959, retiring from acting. She would go on to become a TV presenter and eventually a politician. She did not return to China for nearly 20 years. In 1990, “Ikanaide” was translated into Cantonese and sung by Jacky Cheung using the same melody. Later, the song was rewritten and translated for Jacky Cheung to Mandarin under the title “Late Autumn”. In 2004 the Taiwanese singer Terry Lin adapted the song into a new version titled "In Deep Autumn", with lyrics written by Daryl Yao. Dimash chose the 2004 Taiwanese version arranged by Terry Lin with Mandarin lyrics for his performance at the 2017 “I Am A Singer” competition but gave it his own interpretation and titled it "Autumn Strong". This song went on to earn Dimash the "Best Foreign Singer" award during the Golden Melody Award in Hong Kong. Here are the original lyrics to “Ikanaide”: Ikanaide (ee-kanaa-eedayy) Please Don't Go Away by Koji Tamaki Nothing visible, nothing I have been crying throughout Not because I feel sorrowful But because of the delight of feeling your warmth Ah… Please don't go away, please don't go away Please don't ever ever let us separate Ah… Please don't go away, please don't go away Let's remain this way Someday your heart will be somewhere afar That everything will turn into memory Though it's better not to know Though it's better not to know Ah… Please don't go away, please don't go away Whenever it is, don't let us separate Ah… Please don't go away, please don't go away Let's remain this way

@@DiaLinwen I have not been to Dimash's home studio. I have only seen it featured in a video when he performed Samaltau and S.O.S. for the Tokyo Jazz Festival the previous year. In that video, they only show one angle and the style and ambiance are actually quite similar to this setting as opposed to "completely different" as you state. I do not claim to know for certain whether or not this was filmed in Dimash's home studio. It is simply reasonable to assume given the similarities and the fact that he filmed his previous online concert there. I could not find any mention of the location for this production anywhere so unless you actually have solid information your guess is as good as mine.

@@JensRandolff It was filmed during his stay in China, where he was since September 2021. His haircut is the one from China and his outfit is obviously from there, but for me there is also a vast difference between the two studios, they look nothing alike. For example, the walls in his studio are without the patters that appear in this studio. It isn't really that important, just my observations.

I like Dimash’s soprano voice more than any other real female sopranos. Actually they sound too powerful, rude and sharp for me. While Dimash’s voice sounds so angelic, soft and beautiful, touches my heart 💜 Don’t like when people judge a book by it’s cover. Dimash is beloved and respected by millions not because of his range and notes he can hit, there a lot of other things that impresses people. It’s sad that there are people who only cares about notes. Music and art is not only about notes in my opinion.

Because of the Pandemic, the famous Tokyo Jazz Festival had the invited guests live stream their music to Japan. This song makes Dimash's sung languages to 13, as he sang this in the original Japanese. The title means "Please don't go". Want some thing more flamboyant ? Watch the Music Video " Be With Me"...not the live version. Watch that one later so you can see that live or Studio, Dimash sounds the same. The MV is a total blast. Thank you for a nice technical analysis. This song is indeed delicate. Masterful singing. However, all that is subtle - even those high notes. Everything serves the song, its emotions and message. That humming in the end really gets me. Kind of sums the atmosphere... Sad, desperate yet somehow resigned. Like, he asks "Ikanaide" - Don't go, but knows there is no hope... It seems he does "namaste" gesture in the very end - such a peaceful way to finish. This was the first time Dimash sang in Japanese (13th language he has sung). Japanese reactors have said his pronunciation is very good, almost like that of a native. I understood that you have seen 2 videos from Dimash (2017 and 2021). I wish you watch more to see his real progress - and of course, to enjoy his performances I hope:) Dimash is a very versatile artist, he does pretty much everything. From opera (BA degree) and neoclassic to pop (BA in pop & jazz), folk, Eastern melismas...he even raps! He arranges all his songs, composes (MA with full points), has done directing. He acts well and dances too sometimes. He is a complete artist. I'd think the reason his fans love him very much is his personality though. Dimash is out of this world skilled, has succeeded too but he stays humble, kind and generous. He has good manners and solid values. A real inspiration to follow. Like you said, Dimash was already so good in the Singer days 2017. It is hard to believe that he could improve a lot from that, but he has! Dimash is a perfectionist, very dedicated and has always been a hard worker. He continues to learn, trying new things. He practices ~ 3 hours per day. Over these 5 years, Dimash has honed his techniques, widened his range, his voice has matured, gained new colors, more resonance and richness. Also his performance skills have improved a lot when he has got experience (and studied more; in 2017 he just started to learn dancing for example). He has matured beautifully as a person and artist.

Did you notice how quickly Dimash went from his high range directly to his low range? We are thinking since Dimash started THE SINGER at 22 until now, he has 1. been working on his low voice, and 2. his singing range has gone higher. A lot of Dears. myself included, think he has moved up from 6 to 7 octaves since he originally started. You already know he can do the D8 whistle range; how low have you heard him go so far? I would like to think Dimash is at his 7th Octave. If not, he will be.

I really enjoyed your reaction! However, it seems like you think you have his vocal niche figured out. I would strongly caution you against assuming you understand Dimash's capabilities after reacting to two performances. He has so much more than insane range and great technique. He is a master of both technique and artistic expression and carefully and deliberately chooses which technique to use in each moment of a performance to communicate both the lyrical and emotional meaning of a song. He sings in nearly every genre. He improvises entire songs during a live performance because his understanding of music theory and harmony is phenomenal (check out Know-Vocalise from the Kiev concert in 2020 AFTER you've seen the original version of Know at New Wave 2019). He composes his own music and plans the arrangements himself, often in collaboration with others, but he isn't handing off the arranging to someone else to do for him. He is very hands-on. I would recommend you listen to a variety of his music to get a better feel for how broad his repertoire, and thus his technical skill and artistry are. This past summer, he performed three songs in a week at the New Wave vocal competition in Sochi where he served on the jury: Stranger, Fly Away, and Ave Maria (a new composition written for his voice). They are all very different, but that's still barely scratching the surface of the variety of styles he has performed. There's Be with Me, which he composed with both funk and rap elements, and Keli Meken, which is folk rock, and Samaltau and Daididau, which are traditional Kazakh folk music, and Unforgettable Day, another of his compositions that is a ballad, and Give Me Your Love, which he also composed as a tribute to Michael Jackson(don't get it mixed up with Give Me Love, which is another ballad). To see his stage mastery, try Adagio, All by Myself, and Confessa and the Diva Dance from Singer 2017, as well as Daybreak from Bastau, Love of Tired Swans from the 2020 Kiev concert, and Your Love, and Olympico from the Arnau concert in Kazakhstan. These will broaden your appreciation for the tremendous range of his ability, but even then he will continue to surprise you. It's what he does best!

Thanks for reacting to Dimash again. His range is not the most impressive to me, but his voice control, the way he shifts between the registers seemlessly and how he can go from mix to, for example head voice, in the same tone. The first song you heard from him was in 2017 (January). His lower range has expanded and he has added other techniques as well. As from today you can find Ikanaide on his channel with subtitles. I think the most impressive song of his is Stranger. Looking forward to your next Dimash reaction
