I just love that this album talks about a variety of themes that aren't usually talked about in pop music: friendship, consumerism, micro-agressions, depression, self-love, cultural displacement, family, hereditary pain and etc. There's not a single track about an ex-boyfriend and I think that's amazing.

This is such good content. You can really tell that you’re an expert in your field. Like, not calling out anyone in particular, but there are so many cis white straight men on youtube who think they know everything about music. You clearly have so much knowledge, experience, and passion, and I admire that so much

It´s so interesting that you mentioned Gaga in "Who´s gonna save U now?", A Star is Born actually inspired Rina to make that "stadium" like song, and Rina is a HUGE Gaga fan, both queens ♡

When Rina talked about making this record, she spoke about working with one producer to create a cohesive record that plays from beginning to end. And her samples are amazing, for Tokyo Love Hotel, she sampled the sounds of the hotel she was in and worked it into the production.

Yes I've been waiting for this one. What I really like is how different all the songs are genre wise and the lyrics go with the sounds. Like dynasty is about breaking generational trauma so it sounds really big , XS is a song about capitalism and a satire of those pop songs about spending so it's 2000s pop with rock elements. Etc.

Her vocals at the beginning of the interlude really remind me of Utada Hikaru, who was a famous Japanese pop singer in the early 2000s. Really fun to see various musical influences in a single album!

I love the reactions to the "drop" of bad friend, the emptiness really goes with the message on that first chorus and it's kind of an element of surprise, she does that through the album but in this song is very noticeable

I haven’t heard the album yet but the first clip of Dynasty gave me chills. I love the change up to the rock; when my favorite genres come together I just-😩🙌🏾 I’m excited to see your reaction and then go listen for my impression 🙇🏾♀️ Ooohhh Paradisin’ might be my favorite track. I’m cleaning while listening and I perked up when you mentioned video game and you’re right! It sounds like a boss battle and the MODULATION 😩😩😩 I know my mom hates me because I just screamed. 80s music is my hype music....the ending. Yeah. She took me there ☝🏾😌

Your vids are suuuper duuper informative! As someone who’s always been interested in making/producing music but intimidated by even trying to find a place to begin, having albums I admire like Rina’s broken down and explained in how it’s layered and what may be going into the thought processes behind these records helps my understanding in a much diffrent way. i didn't hear you react to the bridge during bad friend with the gospel like breakdown? idk maybe i missed it but i was really excited to see how you felt about that part in particular because as a production enthusiast, that was my favorite part of the entire album. i just thought that it tied the song together and turned it from outstanding to a masterpiece

On the track 'Bad Friend' I'm pretty sure the "I'm so good at crashing in..." part was made with a vocoder rather than a backup male voice. Regardless, I really liked your imput about the contrast in the voices! This is the first reaction of yours that I've watched and you just got a new subscriber :)

this was such a fascinating watch! :O your comments throughout the video really helps me to appreciate the production of the album even more. I got sucked into Rina's music this year through SAWAYAMA and I've been hooked on her since lolol. if you get the chance, I would love to hear your thoughts on Rina's other music, esp her EP 'RINA'! :D she also has really great singles. definitely a new subscriber ❤️(and you're right, the gays do love her 😭💕)

@@kojikali3381 she's really, really experimental but the album has R&B-ish vibes, some electro pop, art pop. She even uses her voice as an instrument sometimes. Her lyrics and visuals are amazing as well. One of the best albums I've heard this year (it came out in 2019). Critically acclaimed! You'd definitely love it💙💙💙💙💙
