Esa canción de la mata Siguaraya la hizo famosa Benny Moré. Yo la conozco por la versión que interpreto Israel Kantor Sardinas el que fuera en su día cantante de los Van Van, para el homenaje que hicieron al gran Benny Moré. Buen video sobre la Marimbula un instrumento desconocido para los Europeos como yo pero muy usado también en Jamaica para tocar el estilo llamado Mento. Un saludo desde Barcelona, España.

Very cool. I'm not familiar with that particular layout of the guitar's strings-is that traditional for this type of music, or a personal preference of the musician?

ErykaSoleil the guitar that he plays is not a guitar how we know in America, he is playing the Cuban tres, it has 6 strings in pairs of 2 and is tuned to an open C and can also be tuned in an open D chord, the reason why his instrument resembles a guitar is because he took a classical guitar ad converted it to a Cuban tres. Research about the tres you will love it!

Pedro is right. The cuban tres is a magical instrument. Look for Arsenio Rodriguez or Niño Rivera. Pure Bliss. Even go back to the beginnings..the great Carlos Godinez. Enjoy & fall in love

Pues si, porque en realidad se la usa como bajo. La Marimbula Cubana si se fija es más grande y alargada que otros tipos de Marimbula que tienen el tamaño de un cajón Peruano o el más moderno Cajón flamenco Español. AclacMarimbulaclavllegan acnombrar como "el bajo de los pobres" porque no todos los músicos podían costearse un contrabajo acústico.
