Excellent video! Very helpful. Going to check your channel to see if there's a video on KZfaq IDcontent, that's still confusing me. Not sure if musiciens need to comply with the minimum amount of subscribers and watch time for monetization to be able to make money from KZfaq. Keep up the great work!

you did your research so i'm just going to go with whatever you have lol i've been doing my own research, which led me to this video to begin with and man, so much info out there that its confusing and time consuming. i just want to get paid. i have a song that i produced with about 5 million views and i haven't made a dime because i never took the steps to monetize it in any way, just did it for the love of making music. i did however made some connections in my genre of music, so it's not all bad. now i have a direct line to Artists who are doing great things in my genre.

Google “Neighbouring Rights (Your Country) to find where you should be signing up if outside of the US. Example Uk uses PPL, Canada Uses RE:Sound etc..

This is still somewhat confusing to me all i know is that i got my BMI account, Soundexchange, Sentric & Distributor. I had been leasing beats off of youtube so i haven't registered any songs but now im gonna start buying exclusive rights to my beats so i can start registering my songs and be ready in case of a blow up

A friend of mine who is trying to get his royalties for many years for his songs. He was signed to at least 8 labels from the 1960s onwards, I look after him over in the UK, can someone help me out here please. Best Wishes David

Thanks for watching, signing to labels is a different ball game that all depends on the terms of the contracts and if they still own any masters. This video is mainly for independents.

When you register with songtrust they back date but its limited not sure what it is now but probably 6 months to a year

You don’t have to but you will leave a lot of money on the table lol. Songtrust also collects retroactive payments if you already released a song depending on the society that can range back different time frames up to 2 years for some

Depends are the options you take but Songtrust is a one time fee and if you use my link you get a discount. BMI is free, Soundexchange is free, Distribution depends on who you select

Hey Good question, if you are tracking everywhere your music is being played worldwide then no, Songtrust is an admin not a publishing company they register and collect for you so you dont have to do the work.

I'm a musician. How do I create my own monetized music streaming app for my music? I already made a free media player app with AppsGeyser. There is no point paying music distributors to place my music on streaming services, only to get back a fraction of a penny per stream. I'd rather stream my music on my own app for pennies. You can, I’m not sure the price difference now but Distrokid is cheaper then tunecore when I signed up back then, as for the pub tunecore and Songtrust are both 1 time fees and you get a discount with my link for Songtrust, so it’s all preference. Sound exchange is for artist so if that’s you then you should sign up in the U.S.
