I’ve considered getting a compressor for my soundhole pick up. I run a dual pick up system. Trinity straight to my amp and the soundhole pick up through a my pedal rig. I really don’t like soundhole pick ups but because it do like to add some distortion at times so the soundhole pick up works. Might have to try one

Thanks, Gary, you sound great! I'm building my own singer songwriter rig and you helped a lot. I just got the Mic Mechanic 2, a QSC CP8 and have a used Fishman Aura and LR Baggs Align Reverb in the works. Trying to keep as simple as possible. Question: Do you route it all through a mixer or go straight from your pedals into your PA? Thanks again!
@aholder44712 жыл бұрын
I'm a sound guy and I can totally second the suggestion of QSC. All my pro audio friends love the QSC powered speakers. They are great. If you have the money, get the KW series speakers. They have wood cabs and they are definitely worth the extra money and for acoustic gigs, It makes everything sound good easier. It just isn't as hard to make it sound natural because of the wood cabs. That's what the W stands for in the KW by the way. Great stuff. I've helped blow plenty of minds with QSC stuff.

Man, I love that Mic Mechanic! You’ve got a nice setup. I’m on the fence with acoustic DI/effects. I’ve been using the Line 6 POD Go, which isn’t the most ideal. But I’ll look a rhythm and throw in electric sometimes, so it serves as an all-in-one for that.
@garypatrick2881 Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much Jason! That little box is a great tool to have. I recently started using the EV50M all-in-one tower speaker and it has really brought things up a notch. I don't need the Mic Mechanic with it. Ya know, you can't even get a Mic Mechanic pedal right now with the worldwide Chip shortage going on. @@garypatrick2881 That's something else I need to do...simplify my live solo setup. Man, I'm using 2 EV speakers, a monitor, etc. - almost set up for a full band. I'm going to look into the EV50M!
@garypatrick2881 Жыл бұрын
@@jasonstallworth Oh man.. in all my years of playing for a living (almost 35 geez I'm old) Two EV50M's were the best PA purchase I've ever made. EVER. and I have 10K in-ear rigs for festival gigs and such. These towers have 180 degree coverage, Multiple inputs each and can be tethered by a lone Ethernet Cable. Perfect for solo or group acoustic gigs AND my electric trio uses two of them for crowds up to 300 people easy. Loud and Clear! We don't even need wedges if we don't need to be too loud. If we gotta push the vol, we put em out front and use a couple small powered speakers to give us the main mix. Sorry for the long message.. Hi Gary, brilliant video. How do you go about utilising the boost with looper on the Venue DI? My understanding is if you record a loop and want to solo over it with a boosted signal, the Venue will basically boost everything going through the effects loop... just trying to work out the best way to have a boost over the loop

Hey great video! Glad I stumbled on this one. I was wondering what settings do you use on the LR Baggs session? I have one and struggle with it a little. Thanks for posting.
@garypatrick2881 Жыл бұрын
Hey there Jake, Thanks so much for taking time to watch and reach out! For me, the Session Pedal just takes the transients off and glues the whole thing together a bit. My settings are Volume 2 o clock, Gain 10 o clock, Saturation 10 o clock and Comp EQ 10 o clock. It really depends on how hard you hit the guitar with your strumming hand. Every guitar is a little different. I sincerely hope this helps. Cheers, Gary

Great video Gary, do you mind doing another video sharing how to set delays for acoustic, or how do you set up your delays. God bless.
@garypatrick28813 жыл бұрын
Hello Giovanny, Thanks so much for taking time to watch and comment! I really appreciate it and hope you found something helpful in the content. As far as delay on Acoustic Guitar, I personally don't use delay on acoustic guitar. I like a great sounding reverb. Since this video, I've purchased the LR Baggs Reverb pedal and absolutely love it. If you like to experiment with delay pedals, I'd definitely grab something with a tap tempo feature so that you can keep the repeats in time with whatever you are playing. I have friends that have mastered the art of overdrive pedals etc with acoustic guitars gigs. Myself, I like to keep it as simple as I can.. but that's just for me and the style of music that I play. Cheers to you!

Hello Marcel, Thanks so much for watching and reaching out. It was a simple modification to the rubber feedback buster. just take a razor modeling knife and get creative. If you make a catastrophic mistake, they are only a few dollars :). Cheers!

Any Midas or Behringer XR series can do what you are doing with that board. Add an inexpensive MIDI pedal to change programs and you have everything but the looper - and probably a better sound - especially the vocals. Just add your looper pedal and go to town. Your pedal rig sounds good - and there are a thousand different solo acoustic rigs out there - but I thought I would mention another good alternative. No hate - just sharing ideas.
@garypatrick28813 жыл бұрын
Hey there! Thanks for your ideas. Indeed lots of ways to get great sound. I've changed a few pedals out on this board a few times but its a great solution for any (two input) powered speaker. I recently purchased an EV Evolve 50M system and absolutely love it. I reduced my pedal board to a tiny one with rechargeable power supply.. it's ever changing. I love that about our world.. staying passionate about our craft keeps me going! Cheers to you!

Hey there Brooks! Thats very kind of you to inquire about "Thats the way it is" and how to play it. It would take quite a demo.. You can start by tuning your guitar to open G.
