I think it's absolutely mental that they managed to film and do this whole thing while 2 of them are in America, 1 in Egypt and 1 in Czech Republic. It looks like they're in the same room thanks to Marwan's amazing editing skills. Thank you so much for the reaction, really enjoyed it! :)

Thanks, Casper Fox! The level of preparation, coordination, and scripting is definitely at a professional level and they all take it to the next level (especially because they all can do thus individually as well). And that's not even mentioning their musicianship yet, which makes it that much more awesome (I use awesome for everything, yay California Dreamin... haha.)

I can’t believe that Marwan is 17! Good grief. Get him into his late 20s or 30s, and you’re going to have to tunnel to the center of the Earth to find the notes he’ll be able to hit.

I think you were... and Tomi P with Bobby W. just gifted. Peter is no slouch in his music either... :) Please, please do something with Voiceplay. They do musical theater so so well and you guys would REALLY work into the 'imaginary landscape' lol... just not sure where those basses tone would go, but then again, you all together can cover it all.. a cover of Avi's Change on the Rise LOL. Yall would do amazing things :)

Your reaction was both interesting and informative. I've watched/listened to this video at least a dozen times since it came out. I noticed that you've reacted to VoicePlay and was wondering if you've listened to the vocal group Home Free at all or reacted to them. All five members of the group are very talented and the bass singer Tim Foust is exceptional. Their latest release is Brothers in Arms and is well worth checking out. Sometimes people pass them over thinking they are just "country" but they are all trained musicians and perform a multitude of styles. Am looking forward to checking out more of your content.

I do love this song. I'd like to ask a question though, as someone who isn't, and has never been, a professional singer myself. How can you be SURE what your voice type actually is? When I was a teenager (some 30 years ago) my school singing teacher insisted that I sing Tenor, but even then I was getting E flat 2s! At music college (I studied classical guitar and singing) I was told that I might be a "Basso Profundo", but when I hear people like Peter described as "Bass Baritone" it makes me wonder what I actually am? My chest voice is down to around C2 now, and what I assume is chest fry (though I don't actually know) gets me down to roughly E flat 1. HELP! lol
@casi9238
@casi9238 2 жыл бұрын
Down to C2 is certainly basso profundo range. The crucial thing to remember is that vocal type is related to tessitura ("most acceptable and comfortable vocal range for a given singer" - wikipedia), not necessarily full range. Peter, for instance, may be able to go down into basso profundo range, but he's classified as a bass-baritone because his comfortable range is that of a bass-baritone. Similarly, Geoff Castellucci, the superlow bass of Voiceplay, can hit absurdly low chest notes (and sub notes too), but he has said that his tessitura is that of a baritone. For that reason, Geoff is best described as a "baritone with a bass range". This means that Geoff's and Peter's low notes will have more of a low-note timbre to them than the same notes sung by Bobby. To be completely honest with you, voice type is really not that important unless you're auditioning for some particular role in musical theater or opera. However, you can check your tessitura area just by figuring out the pitch at which you normally speak (mine's G2, placing me squarely as a bass II, which for me matches up with my full range). A low C2 chest range is very impressive, and gives you a basso profundo range (although with more practice you can surely descend even deeper into the depths), but that doesn't necessarily mean your voice type is basso profundo. Does this make sense? I have a tendency to ramble
@Anton_the_Vampire
@Anton_the_Vampire 2 жыл бұрын
@@casi9238 thanks, das makes a lot of sense. My speaking voice is very low. Regularly below C2 (I just checked). As for tessiture, I'm most comfortable in my low range. I can sing up to g4, but it's not comfortable. To give you an idea, when I'm singing along to stuff I frequently drop down an octave. I think from this I must conclude that I'm a basso profundo with some baritone high notes.

I’m not in choir Bc our teacher doesn’t care about low parts at all which is sad. I’m 14 and would be like bari/tenor. My lowest chest is a d2 on any day and c2 on a good day
@bass2yang
@bass2yang 2 жыл бұрын
That's too bad - there should be more efforts to include rep that allows a low bass to shine and work a bit more instead of the middle and higher range. Nevertheless, the voice needs work in all areas. As long as you keep singing, you will find what works best for you and shine through. Keep singing! Thanks for watching!

It seems more like a baritone gang. I wish we could hear the recordings without all editing and mastering. It is interesting if they made a "live" recording, how big the difference would be compared to a the edited clip.
@bass2yang
@bass2yang 2 жыл бұрын
It would be quite interesting to hear live recordings. Dealing with choral music, I believe these guys can hold their own as basses. I agree in that the difference would be noticeable - especially on the lows - though, that's the reason why many enjoy this genre - for replicating specific timbres and tones (instruments) and enhanced sound (which includes the editing and mastering). Also, a good reason why I thoroughly enjoy doo-wop and barbershop 👍 Where there is a will, there are basses ready to fill (the room with amazing lows). Thanks!
