I was a Devout Catholic all of my life, I and my son are believers after watching your sermons for almost a year. 😊 Hi, I’m Nadia Njoku who along with my son gave my heart to the Lord by profession of faith. Your sermons and songs greatly inspired me. Thank you so much and thanks be to GOD. ❤️💫✨🔥🙌🏾

I was hurt and confused entering the Adventist Church, as I left years of Sunday keeping, to find the same kind of music in our churches that I was running from in babylon.

Before Christ returns, the misunderstanding of Christ's character, person & work will be black as midnight-- just as it was prior to his 1st advent. Allow the Holy Spirit & the Word of God to lead you to worship in spirit & in truth, & to keep you-- regardless.

Tares well be shaken out... I nearly left for messianic or something else due to some of what I've seen but this is the true church. Only a remnant of a remnant will be saved... keep the faith

As someone who has been producing hip hop music before returning to Christ I can affirm this. We have to make a difference

The church is a place we go to praise and worship God. If we believe that He is there, we will conduct ourselves in a holy manner, not in an emotional frenzy. We are told by God to be holy, because He is holy. His sanctuary is holy, and we should reverence it as such, not by worldly conduct and communication. We are called to be a peculiar people, different in all manner of conduct than the world.

Right cause we would never take a secular song written by Beethoven in honor of other gods and change the words and make it a popular hymn smh

Yes, I have noticed this too Pastor Skeete...the Church and the overall Worship has changed. Pastors talk about changing with the times (these are Adventist Pastors mind you).

Scott Ritsema and his series Media on the Brain expounds more on this subject. It was incredibly helpful for my family, all the way down to my young children and made such an impact that even my children agree we should only listen to sacred music. Thank you for sharing, Pastor Skeete.

Pastor it's the naked truth, but I wonder how comes that we Adventists, the remnants called to represent our mighty Lord have gone off from the fundamentals of what we believe... We need to revive ourselves and watch what we play, what we listen too, we might be worshipping in Vain😢

Whoa, the wailers and the crooners aren't going to like that sermon! Especially the ones with big lungs unnecessarily augmented by a 1000 watt PA system! I don't attend, anymore, but, when I did, the screeching was my cue to leave the sanctuary. Now... do a sermon on those that use the pre-service sanctuary as their time to catch up on the latest gossip and the kids bouncing their "Sabbath toys" off the pews and the walls!

There are cultural differences and preferences that will always come in to play. Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you! As a musician for years I know that there is no one size fits all. Sometimes we seek uniformity instead of unity. Although I know what may be deemed appropriate for personal worship may not be deemed appropriate for congregational worship, there are too many passages of Scripture speaking of praising with a loud voice and loud instruments. Some how the loud praise becomes a problem. The dance becomes a problem. Well take it up with God. Don't bring your preferences and try to make them policy when Scripture teaches something else. We go with Scripture.. not preference Psalms 66:8-20 "People, praise our God. Sing loud songs of praise to him. He continues to give us life, and he keeps us from falling" Psalms 98:4-9 "Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: Make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise. Sing unto the LORD with the harp; With the harp, and the voice of a psalm" Psalm 150 "Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals" - This is the Word of God not preference!

You can’t go to church; you are the church, God cannot be worshipped in temples built with human hands; nor can he be worshipped in churches!
@mariabarnes9197Ай бұрын
However, you can go to a church building-- which is supposed to be sacred because that's where God meets w/ that body of believers.
