Spiritual Paralysis is my 8th full length album comprised of synths, piano, violin, viola, cello, drums, hand percussion, pedal steel guitar, flute and sparse vocals. I went so far down the spiritual rabbit hole to find that there is so much bullshit and garbage out there all saying the same things yet nothing at all. Unplug from all the noise, there is power and clarity in silence. Believe in yourself, make the best decisions you can at that time, stay flexible, stay curious. We are not in control of everything, but you contain more power than you know. Do little things to start trusting yourself again, take care of your mind and body, and stay playful. We are the same thing, trying to create a new dream together to perpetuate this thing called life. May you be well, may you be love. Our day is here, do not fear it.

I'm sorry, but I love this idea that mischief sometimes sits down to try his best to help someone. Sure, he's a force of chaos that literally needs to consume souls to survive, but his nature no longer defines him as a being. He consciously made the effort to become more than himself, even if by his nature he does it in the most destructive way possible. He's going to break things, people will change, move on, or pass away because of him, but in the end many find that through their interactions they have become more than they were, which can give them strength to grow, or heal wounds thought insurmountable. Often, though, he leaves in perceived failure, when in reality his profound success is only measured much later.

I think your interpretation is beautiful. I'm fully willing to adopt this as head-cannon,(which I feel is at least partially supported by the behavior we see in Interface...) I'm paraphrasing somewhat, but I also love the idea that Mischief is driven/chooses to show people things beyond what they were meant to observe. Impossible/unthinkable things or thoughts or ideas that will ultimately change them in some way, for better or for worse. Or simply different than they were.

Dude this shit is important. you might not fully see it yet but this is poetic. in a sea of hopelessness and draining energy, you come out and you put this out here to give people hope. to give people something to inspire and spark some life in them again. if people would only just break away from the illusion of helplessness, pessimistic nihilism and meaninglessness.

Starting my 3rd week of sobriety after 3 years of relapses and misery. I was born in 1980 this brings me back to childhood and the awe and mystery of life. Addiction can box us into a prison chamber of falsehoods. I am reborn and I embrace the good, the bad, the ugly, and the worst parts of my life. I am only human and I am going to see the world through a new set of eyes and perspectives. It’s time to laugh at myself and all the crazy stories I have to tell and I look forward to an alcohol free future and the new journeys it will take me on. Thank you! Life is worth the pain because without the pain we wouldn’t rejoice in times of joy. Subscribed 🚀

6 months today. Hell yeah man. When I learned to let go of fear and accept the experience life started turning around. It's mental, it's temporary, and it's part of you but it's not you. You are not your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. They are an object of your consciousness, they are a reflection of your mind, and they are trying to show you something about yourself. Sit, breathe, listen, observe, and let it flow over and past you. One day at a time.

Your authenticity has reminded me that amidst the darkness, there still exists a glimmer of hope, a purpose waiting to be discovered. thank you for sharing the profound essence of your being, and for rekindling a flame of resilience within me that had grown dim. :)

Whenever I find myself doomscrolling I try to make a game of it. I clock and view some of the most absurd things I can find, the more absurd the better. I find polarizing topics and watch both sides. I find videos of atheists and satanists dunking on Christians then look for videos of Christians dunking on atheists. I watch pro-life videos then immediately switch gears to pro-choice. I watch alt-right mischief before watching alt-left buffoonery. Then, when the algorithm is nice and confused, to the point it starts asking me what I actually enjoy, I search for what it provides. It's how I got here at least. You can find some strange works out there.

This is magnificently beautiful, makes me feel melancholy with bright future but regret of how I have lived in the past. Overall its an upward trend but for the brightest of days there is still darkness. I chose to be here to learn this. Little did I know the difficulties these humans partake in on a daily basis. If you read this i wish you the best and no matter how difficult it is remember we chose it and one day we will return to which we were the now. There we will embrace. Good luck fellow humans.

In shadows cast by endless scroll, I found peace, my self-control. No longer bound by digital chains, I dropped the chase, released from strains. The void of screens no more my guide, I stepped away, no need to hide. In silence found a clearer sight, Embraced the day, embraced the light. No longer lost in endless gloom, I broke the spell of ceaseless doom. With courage bold, I took my stand, And found my peace upon the land. No more the slave to scrolling's call, I rise above, I stand so tall. In quiet moments, I am whole, Free from the grip of endless scroll.

Hmm... Don't be afraid to jump though. People are so certain that all forms of "death" are these finite things. No, I'm not saying jump off a cliff ffs. The thing is, sometimes an older version of you has to die before a new version of you can be born. No one has to carry a bunch of weight with them as they travel, that's by choice. Always ask, who do you really want to be? The anxiety felt is just the old self recognizing that it's time is up. You can either suffer alongside it, or take back what's yours and let it drift back into the sea that is "you." "You" are still "you" either way.

I'm an internet lurker and non user of social media, so I rarely comment; but here goes. I was excited to see a new release when I got home and put it on first thing. While listening to it play in the background, some indescribable quality of the music totally consumed my senses and paused my thoughts. I stopped my other activity completely; I almost completely lost my sense of place or time and became enveloped in what I was feeling. It was the track 'Spiritual Paralysis' of course. When it ended, I came to and listened to that track another two or three times more, before restarting the album to listen through properly. It is for these sorts of experiences that I have been a long time follower of your work, nearly since the beginning of Interface. Your artistic journey, your music, your philosophy; the ways they intertwine and dance together have always been both unique and mesmerizing. I have spent hours listening and wondering about these myriad art works you've shared with the world. If someday I feel I can share my own art with others, than I fully intend to accredit you as a key inspiration. Or even refer to you and your artwork as a spiritual mentor of sorts, assuming I could confirm you would be comfortable with that, and if that time ever comes. - Lastly, even if one day you no longer share your artwork or have otherwise moved beyond this part of your life... We are just strangers to one another, I know that fully, but this is my hope... Please, sincerely, from this carbon-based entity to you, please never cease to embody the wonderment and beauty you have shown to myself and others through your art.

This sounds like, a bitter sweet story, like when you have to make a decision and its not a pleasant one but it will set a bench mark, some may leave you for that decision and some may stay beside you. Its like finding out the truth of a matter, feeling better you know it, although its not what you wanted to hear. And you have the clarity and the drive but just have to sit in the moment and let it all sink in and process it and realise where you are right Now.

Things will get better i promise. i know we dont know each other but when things are really rough we always have to look for that glimpse of hope. To one day shine in the light again and feel the sun on our skin. Things will always get worse before they can be better, its the give and take in this universe. Whatever you put into your mind will unfold in front of you. Give your mind good thoughts and good things will unfold in front of you. I know that sounds impossible, irrational even but, if all els has failed, why not try it and see if it works for you.

*Never Underestimate Your True Potential.* As I find myself feeling brand new, I can’t help but appreciate the beauty in everything around me. This journey that I have embarked on, has become an experience worthy of one day sharing with the world. With my minds eye wide, I have seen.. And; I’ve come to understand ANOTHER side to the coin, hidden in wakings view. but when I return I can’t remember it… but that’s okay because I, myself know it. Every trip I take , The vail becomes thinner and more transparent. Revealing to me a whole new world beyond our own physical existence. This brings me great peace… But need I venture too far down the unknown. That’s where My compassion overflows, I connect inwardly so deeply with the sufferings of the world… How is it possible to see & feel your life flash before my own eyes? This phenomenon of a mystery is absolutely fascinating to me. Thank you for your music, which has inspired me to write. One Love.

The string arrangements you create always put me in a better place, Spiritual Paralysis is wild and beautiful in a way no other song I've ever heard is. It's really touching stuff, thank you for continuing to invest your care into this work. I hope you find relief from your own spiritual paralysis, and I hope you know that your work here is curing it for many others.

I was intrigued by the phrase "spiritual paralysis." I found a paper written by Francis De Sales from the late 16th century. I would recommend reading it.

Thank you for this. I believe that music is the highest form of art, especially ambient and/or IDM tracks. Making something so angelic or calming that everything in life slows down to a pace in which the eyes can perceive is beautiful. You have accomplished this. With Mischief staring back hauntingly, and the soft calm music (especially the first track) creates for a life altering experience like no other. Thank you. ❤

Wow. I just took a bit of time to figure out what The Coastline means to me, and it's one of the most beautiful little stories. "The sky's not always blue, is it?". This isn't a talk about science, but of the ebb and flow of life; The suffering against the joy. The context of the war behind it amplifies this meaning. He understands why these things happen logically, the chemicals in the brain, the politics of the world. But those scientific explanations do not make the sky seem any less blue. When you experience these things, they feel so out of your control; "God decided it so."

[THE COASTLINE} her question snapped him out of his thoughts. catching him staring into the horizon. silent since who knows when. he had read about the U-boats coming in through the kapiti strait. but couldn't fathom it to be true, he wanted to see it for himself. the war machine brought to his village off the coast line. no longer could he ignore its call as it called out to him by name. tomorrow, (he'll) ill-depart. He dropped down placing his knee in a dry patch of grass he swept his daughters hair to the side and looked her in the eyes. "the skies not always blue, is it ?" seagull drifted behind him against the current, motionless. "look." he pointed towards the horizon. were the crest of the ocean and sky meet. a pale green haze, a pink mist dozens of kilometers away. "over there." she squinted, her gaze tracking his hand to the distant beyond. "light is made of every color." he scraped the ground with his palm, closing it with the turn of his wrist. then opened it to unleash a handful of sand to the breeze that carried it away. "The colors are filtered by the particles in the sky, But why is it blue ?" He heard the reason crashing against the shore, waves spilling onto the black rocks sweals of the white noise filled his ears. The seas scattered across the beach. dissipating before them. The scientific explanation, so rational and clear in his mind. Yet when he answered. He told her. "God decided it so"

This just took my bible studying to a whole other level. It also reminds me of the Nightmare on Elm Street soundtrack, only less suspenseful and more relaxing and ethereal, but would definitely still fit well in the films, in my opinion. Maybe that's just because those films are some of my favorites, and I loved listening to this track. Regardless, you did a phenomenal job, and i will definitely be back for more ♡♡♡

There's times in life where you'll feel on top of the world. Relationships, opportunities, and blessings fall directly in your lap. It's effortless. Pure flow state. And then there's times where you feel like the world is collapsing in on you from all sides. You're neck deep in self hate, guilt, sadness, anger, envy, you name it. Nothing wrong with either. That makes you human. But, it's important that you ride these states like waves, and not become too attached to either. At the end of the day, nature seeks higher order. Riding the waves of life with a smile, and actively taking steps in the direction you wish to go will never fail you.
