THEN BRUNO MARS & ANDERSON PAAK & THEIR BAND, SILK SONIC GO RIGHT AND FILL THAT VOID AND OH, WHAT A BREATHE OF FRESH AIR! THE SONG IS SO SMOOTH AND COOL BUT GROOVY, IT ALMOST LIKE ALL THE DECADES FROM THE 60s UP TO THIS ERA COMPLETELY FORGED TOGETHER AND BRING US AN OLD BUT NEW, VINTAGE BUT FRESH MUSIC WE HAVE BEEN LONGING TO HEAR! Based on the comments you’re making I think you’d really like .Paak’s music. This style, from the 70’s inspiration to the modern, funny lyrics, this song is very much his wheelhouse. This is Bruno’s true musical love .....R and B. The man is so talented and brings such a wealth of life and career experience. His instrumental skills, production, writing, vocals..... I know one can tell I am a fan, but he truly is superb. He also wants to indulge in his interests. I truly think now he has the creative freedoms to indulge. He is having a ball, collaborating with Anderson . Paak( Anderson opened for Bruno some on tour) and creating Silk Sonics for this album. There are at least two musicians here from his band he has been with on his albums, the Hooligans. He has a great love of true instrumentals, with a great studio group like this. Every time I think he has topped himself , he takes it to another level.

Anderson Paak is the guy on drums/ singing the verses. Saw him live supporting Bruno Mars, I must say I was impressed at the time. Silk Sonic is the name of the upcoming Bruno Mars album. The quality of this doesn't surprise me, based on what Bruno has done previously. He tapped into the 80s vibe on the last album (24K Magic, which for me is a 9/10 album) and by the looks of this he is going full 70s for this one. I really enjoyed your reaction video 😁 Both Anderson paak and Bruno Mars have been doing music like this for years, that's why I love them! They have that old skool 70s vibe that my soul craves 🥰

Hip hop is 40+ years old and is tired. The call went out to bring back the 70s and Bruno Mars delivered. One door closed and another door opened.

I really enjoyed your review. It was refreshing as you're obviously not a Bruno Mars fan boy and you are looking at the musical intricacies that combine to make this not only a great song but in my mind a timeless one too. Anderson .Paak is the drummer and other lead vocalist. Together with Bruno Mars, they are Silk Sonic. Anderson isn't just pretending to play the drums for the purpose of the video, he is an accomplished drummer, vocalist and rapper. I would encourage you to listen to some of his music, it's creative and expressive.

I enjoyed your reaction and breakdown of the song. Bootsy Collins named the group Silk Sonic. I'm so happy the young musicians and artists are educating themselves about this musical genre and BRINGING IT BACK; I missed it sooo much. VERY REFRESHING! You can tell Silk Sonic was inspired by the PHILADELPHIA SOUND of music back in the 70's. Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff know as Gamble & Huff (Philadelphia International Records). I grew up off this music and still listens to it today. I can hear the sounds of this song was inspired by groups such as; 1. Delfonics 2. Dramatics 3. Stylistics 4. Blue Magic (Sideshow) 5. Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes 6. O'Jays 7. The Jones Girls 8. The Three Degrees 9. McFadden & Whitehead 10. Intruders 11. Billy Paul 12. The Jacksons -- They produced their first two albums after they left Motown for Epic/CBS. 13. Spinners song like (Could It be I'm falling in Love; I'll Be Around) Just to tease you guys...lol Gamble & Huff were some PHENOMENAL songwriters and producers.

I liked this review. Critiqued by a professional. Sonic Soul is the title they put to the Bruno Mars, Andrew Paak, who's on drums; collaboration (title chosen by Bootie Collins). This is the first released single from the project due to be out ~March 19th.

Absolutely love Bobby Womack and across 110th Street! Fantastic reference and comparison, also Jackie Brown is one of those movies I go back to time and time again. As somebody else has said John, really really cool to hear your authentic, in the moment reactions. Very human, nicely complimented with your extensive experience in music and technical skills completely agree with you regarding the left in the music, left like that there with soulful vocals make the hairs stand up on the back of my head. What little hair I have LOL
