Never expect it to be similar in any way to how you used to play. I had to basically relearn my instrument after getting mine on and again after getting them off.

Been playing clarinet for about a year now and just got braces on and could not play at all, hopefully gets better soon

Actually you don’t get use to it. Every time I play for at least 2 hours a day, I get a cut then he next day it hurts to play.

whatever ig do they cause trouble when you play in band...personally as a French horn I don’t know yet since it is currently summertime but I hope they don’t become a challenge when playing :)

Gi well...do they have a very significant issue when playing...I have many friends who play just fine (both in a very good spot in band) and it seems to not bother them...maybe it is different for others :)

@@kikikooop with braces it affects the way you play and it becomes harder but after you adjust everything is okay

Z U C C I’m still adjusting! I ordered a braces guard to protect my gums from cutting up and i’m back to playing normal.

Some ortho offers installment plan for it. You can just pay a small amount per visit

It is not so simple like that. As orthodontistics are not musicians they don't know what are the struggles to acquire a good embouchure on wind instruments such as saxophone, flute, trumpet, tuba, flugelhorn and so on. Braces mess embouchure a lot. No matter if you just putted them you are gonna relearn a new way of embouchuring it. If you pull them off by the end of the treatment or by rage you are gonna relearn it too. In both cases you have to relearn all the basics and it sucks a lot. Thus If you are intending put braces on only for the sake of beauty I have a device for you that is DON'T PUT THEM ON.

They hurt the first few days. It took me about a week to get used to them, and after every check-up, they might be sore for a day or two. But in the end you'll have a beautiful smile!

When you get them no...after around three hours they become a little sore...for me day two and three were the worst I didn’t and wasn’t able to eat...on around day six I didn’t feel pain...and then after around 2 weeks of having them I can even tell they’re there :) there is nothing to worry about I’m sure you’ll be fine
