Great list I’m a big fan of council skies,I’ve not seen many people have it on there list, which is interesting as I also think it’s his best solo album . 2023 was such a great year-for music thanks for sharing your favourites 👍🎄

Thanks for putting this list together. You included a couple of my big faves this year in Noel Gallagher and The Rolling Stones, and gave me plenty of other albums and artists to check out. My album of the year for 2023 is by sublime Australian band The Church and is called ‘The Hypnogogue’.

Thanks for the mention of the MMJ live album. I did not know about that one! Agree on Jason Isbell, Wilco and Ryan Adams. My fav rock album of the year was Ozarker by Israel Nash. Perfectly produced, excellent songs and playing imo. Stuart

Interesting list! I’ve not heard of so many of these artists, so was a good way to gauge what I should check out (taken my ears off the music world over the last decade or so). But delighted you had ‘Council Skies’ so high - it’s definitely my fave album of 2023 - Noel Gallagher conjured up the magic on that record. Beautiful I’m really enjoying your videos. It makes me so happy to see you include Lana Del Rey on your list at #4. I've been a fan since Honeymoon. She is independent, and her records are colossal, no 29-minute ditties here. Truly music to sink your body and soul into. Of course, you have a number of really cool lps in our top 20, but the Lana mention caught my ear.

Cool list, but I noticed it all staying in one genre for the most part. Rock is the genre I listened to the most this year, but you really only had one pop album, zero folk albums, zero hip hop albums, one metal album, zero electronic albums, and zero experimental albums... I'd like to see some more diversity in the future

Paul, I had about half of these. Gizmo did catch me attention. I tried to get into the Del Rey album but it has been a tough one for me. Loved the Price album, I just can’t find where it got filed. Hives was the biggest surprise to me.

I did not select too many of albums on my top list for 2023. Among them are Lucinda Williams Stories from a Rock and Roll Heart, Temples Exotico and The Record Company The 4th Album For me it was not a bang up year for new releases.

RVG - "Brainworms" and Being Dead - "When Horses Would Run" are great albums you might like.
