Sadly on the few times I was able to visit before emigrating, the Wurlitzer wasn't played. However I remember being taken to its former home of the Regal Kingston to hear it played by the great Reginald Dixon, would have been about 1960. I've loved theatre organs ever since.

Not only a superb concert, but superb use of counterpoint via second touch!

Thank you so much for this beautiful program. To answer Simon's question about the star of the film "Annie Get Your Gun," it was Betty Hutton, who played opposite Howard Keel.

Hutton replaced Judy Garland, who was fired when she became unable to remember her lines. Hutton later claimed that she was treated poorly on the set, because everyone loved Judy.

A delightful performance, indeed. I do have to wonder, though. Was this performance presented on KZfaq as a live event initially? If so, how might I plan to view such an event if it should occur in the future? I don't know why it matters, but I just think a live event might be more thrilling. Now, back to the show, for me! Thanks, Musical Museum! I love you! ~James

What a joy. Absolutely loved your arrangements Simon. I especially enjoyed the opening toe tapping 'Top Hat' numbers and the lovely alternative harmonies throughout a lot of the concert - always thoughtful and appropriate. I think you managed to coax out about every possible colour throughout the concert. Your second touch is seriously impressive too. I wish I could have been there in person - one day perhaps. The sound of the organ was, as always, brilliant in the headphones - you hear the chambers quite distinctly and it sounds in perfect condition - kudos to the tuner! My only criticism was the constantly open mike in (presumably) the gallery which got a bit annoying (sorry)(EDIT - I think you had perhaps realised for the second half 👍). Thank you all for sharing and I look forward to the next upload. Question: How did you achieve the 'fp' on second touch during 'Hurrying Home'? It's not something I've heard before, love it!

Do i detect a little Everett Norse in the mix there? Not only Simons mastery of the colour of Tonal sounds of the organ, he puts himself in the music much like Fred Astair and Ginger Rodgers did when they danced. It was allways full of drama and intregue Nothing better in my oppinion,

Sadly, there's more money in the joys of regional finance management than in being one of the world's best theatre organists. He's as good as Richard Hills.
