Tanno Dheesa Prachodayaat |
Benefit (s) : The Dakshinamurthy Gayatri Mantra gives a person the ability to attain fulfillment in life with the guidance of a proper Guru. Lord Dakshinamurthy is an avatar of Lord Shiva in the form of a Guru (teacher). This mantra can also be chanted to overcome obstacles in education, accumulation of wealth, and marriage.
Best Time to Chant : Guru Thisai or Guru Bukthi (sub-periods) and Thursdays (especially after praying to the planet Jupiter)
Number of Times to Chant : 9, 11, 108, or 1008 times

You are right bit it should be Disha i.e direction l.e. in Kannada dikku and dhyanastaya i.e in meditation pose one word. Not dhyna hastaya l.e.diffetent meaning - hasta mean hand
