I have started my own digital label. The toughest part is the promo. Got to have a good budget for that. Touring helps. But got to have that budget!!

Fiver is the way to go, I have quite a few logos done via that outlet now $5 is common but I’ve purchased a few for $25 to high as $45 and it was well worth it. Thumbs up to this guy for spreading the word

Nice advice. I think I will share it with one of my friends who asked me to read his contracts because he was about to sign to a label. First thing I told him was why would you do that? In the digital age you could to everything yourself! Again great great video!

You can promote on KZfaq ads, get in front of those music channels

Doing a digital release would still require mastering the music jbefore uploading for MP3 to get the best sound quality,but yes that could be the way to go.

I have a concern, I was told if one starts a record company, they would have to be able to register to all PROs (Sesac, ASCAP, BMI) in order to receive the signee's/artist's money to fund them / recoup set percentage? Is this true and how would one go about that due to having multiple artist on different PROs?

I'm not am artist but i just want to own a rec label that's possible right and i don't have artists to start with but i know there are a lot of artists out there who need it ....im thinking not just digital setups i need a studio there aint a lot out there that's the big problem for the artists ...........so my question is what's do i need to persuade artists to sign for me upload there music under my the labels channel....i dont have money so can i sign artists with out money ?

Here is something I cant find an answer for if I have a record label. Do I need to get another company/and or license to publish music? Like i understand as a label owner i have the right to publish it but do i need another entity to be registered with like ascap or bmi if im distributing music online only?

Hello I am your regular views and i need your help plx help me out I am an artist and i am new youtuber I stared my own channel before one year but i did mistake of not registering it My all orignal content got copyright strike and were taken down by KZfaq and my channel terminated... What should i do to recover my past projects???

I don't mean to go against the grain of your video here but the way I am planning on releasing my Net-label will be with a Creative Commons License, we won't make any money but we'll release music to share with people in the hopes that a song is the stepping stone that helps lead a soul to Christ. We must be Kingdom minded. I'm not even sure at this point if I will have artists. I would like to though. With this infrastructure, there will be no need to file with my state as no money will be coming in or going out. :) It will all be done free and artists if we have any will give their music for free. Naturally though, if they want to make money they can distribute their music through Routenote for free and get listed on all major outlets again, for free. As to logos, you can make one for free by using a Bible verse and selfy next to the verse. You just have to find a verse or set of verses that gives an idea as to your label or artists or what have you. :) I don't know, perhaps I'm crazy. lol

It enabled the big guys to totally rip off artists, but at this grass-roots level, it seems a fair way to cover all the expense I'm putting forth to produce and promote my artists' music. 2) What is a good distribution company to promote and sell my artists' music? If you're an artist and need design work, DON'T go to Fiverr. Save up your money and hire a legit Designer to make your cover art.

Mostly just common sense stuff. And NO it's not totally free people, don't be fooled. You have to invest in equipment to make music too, duh! Just makes it sound way too easy. Good luck though!
