The entire album is about making peace with your past traumas and accepting who you are and not trying to fit in with society or social norms, to be unabashedly you and finding a way to fall in love with life again. Vylet nailed it.

DAVIDDD! Missed this channel lots! If you like edm and this song, my favorite artist is Porter Robinson. I know you have reacted to a bit to his stuff before, but if you want to get into more edm I highly suggest Sea of Voices, Fellow Feeling, and a song from his side project called Angel Voices (by: virtual self). These songs are amazing for the move away from the normal style and way of creating music just completely displays the amazing production level of Porters edm style and brings diversity, along with delicious synths and supersaws!

Antonymph is gorgeous and carries a wonderful message of self-expression and embracing the reverence of your own interests and passions. Never let anyone ever tell you who you are or what you should be. Vylet's music in general is fantastic and I highly recommend listening to her newest album, Carousel, because it has lived in my head for the past 4 months since it came out

@Coppergears1974

Hm... I remember you having made a video on this about a year ago... Eh, must be my imagination. When it comes to the message of the song, I always was torn between its message of preserving yourself against adversity and its lackadaisical attitude to life, painting the message in a somewhat unhealthy context, such as celebrating failing education and random platitudinal assertions, like the one about the free market. It has a rebellious teenager vibe which utilises a good life lesson as an excuse to break with all aspects of life and society. My reaction is therefore mixed. That is to say, I, myself, have faced discrimination my entire life. It began with five years of age when I was ostracised for being Jewish. I was even separated from my family, twice, because of their "questionable Jewish background." As an adult, I was treated as a second class citizen for being white and a man. So many job offers have passed me by because I was not "diverse" enough, because they were looking for some "representation," or because the company needed to "maintain a good balance of the sexes," sometimes legally. Often, I was and still am asked whether I am hiding behind my "manly attire" and I should just embrace my "feminine side" and "open up about my emotions." I was pushed for wearing female clothing unasked. When I declined such nonsense, I was always a "toxic male" who "lives in the 19th century" and cannot accept "modern sensibility" to which I supposedly had to adapt. When I had a man make advances and I declined, stating that I was not gay and not interested, people around me talked in hushed whispers about how I am some misogynist and service in the establishment was considerably colder. When I went to dinner with a male, black colleague from my (former) workplace, people talked about how I was trying to establish "white supremacy" by being so "assertive" with a "person of colour." It doesn't happen every day but it happens with increasing frequency. Perhaps I _am_ a second class citizen. Morality is subjective after all. Maybe we simply live in times in which someone like me, a straight and white man, is less worth because of what he is. Apparently people believe that just being white, male, and straight is in of itself a privilege which in a tit-for-tat mentality must be counteracted in everyday life. I do not and cannot agree with it. I am not morally flexible enough to adapt to this world view. Maybe that is yet another reason I am worth less than others. Often I wonder if I was simply born too late for my own good. Either way, this is my life, whether society deems it valuable or not. It's mine and it's valuable to me. I will live my life however I like. If that means wearing suits and ties, having a beard and moustache, having my hair short and simple, being interested in manly activities, and generally liking women, then that is what I do. I am and I continue to be unapologetically myself. I am going to talk to who I want, say things which are on my mind, condemn what I see as irredeemable, and forge my own future. Although, I must say that Bon Jovi's It's My Life is a more focused and less dysfunctional song in terms of lyrics to chose to represent that idea than Vylet's Antonymph. Still, this is a good song to listen to in terms of sound.

Not sure you're looking for any more song recommendations at this time, but i think it'd be cool if you reacted to Reckless Battery Burns by Ghost And Pals! it's made with SynthV (similar thing to vocaloid) and it's a really interesting instrumentals! also, the lyrics are partially AI generated/inspired which is pretty cool! it's a bit of a heavy song but i'd love to see you react to it! hope you're doing well btw mate, have a nice day :)
