He was so worried about how he would be accepted because he'd been making movies for 20 years and didn't know if he'd be accepted again 😂😂. This part of the special wouldn't have happened if Steve Binder hadn't heard him having a jam session in his dressing room. At the last minute Elvis didn't want to go onstage. But Steve told him at least go out and say hello and he wasn't going to make him do anything he didn't want to. Elvis went out and the great reception he hot from the fans he stayed! This was the best part of the Special to me! He relaxed and had fun!

This was a part of his 1968 Comeback schedule where are they got his old band together minus Bill black the bass player cuz he had recently died. But you still had Scotty Moore on guitar and DJ Fontana on drums. And in the end they didn't even really have a chance to properly rehearse. They all got together briefly in Elvis's dressing room backstage before coming out on this tiny stage. And if you listen closely and even look at the little bit of footage that's in there, you can see where DJ Fontana the drummer didn't have room for his kick drum on the stage and he didn't complain at all. He said man we used to play without one when we first did the state fairs. So he moved it off the stage and grabbed Elvis's acoustic guitar case and just hit that with his sticks and dumped it with his foot. It was just a totally raw improvised thing and they were having so much fun and the audience loved it. What a great idea to have that little performance segment in the round. Pretty much every song from this is pure gold. Lots of joking around and it's just so fun.

He was so nervous but he sure didn't look nervous to me he looked so handsome In that black leather. Love how he was joking around with the guys, I love when he says boy my boy with his southern accent.. the 68th comeback special was the best , I heard next year they are coming out with a documentary of how the 68th comeback special was put together and how it all happened . I'm looking forward to seeing it..

I love this song on his recorded version. It’s a little more emotional and slow. But this version is loads of fun to watch and allows us to see him in person clowning around and so very much alive & having fun.

He was a blessed performer, the likes the world will ever see again. Your reactions are so genuine and awesome. As a performer your self you know how easy it isn't. He was a little apprehensive. This was his first live appearance since he went into the army ten years earlier. His manager scheduled many movies he really did want to make keeping him away from fans. He told someone he wasn't sure fans would remember him.

Don't get me wrong I like this version, but I like the original version that I have on his number 1CD hits. I keep worrying I'll wear it out, because I play this t so much. I can remember watching this show and how I enjoyed it so.Of course I had no idea he would be lost to us only a short 9 years later. What a loss to the music World and of course all his fans. There has never been another like him and I don't think there ever will be!

John I'm out of words all I can say he was he was so handsome AKA Elvis Junkie still waiting for some of my request I know one of them is pieces of my life which I told you that if Elvis had ever written an autobiography type song for himself actually wrote the words I believe this would have been the one I don't know who did write it I could Google that and also solitaire they are slap picture musicals with the words the words he won't be out of words when you hear especially pieces of my life it fits him perfectly and solitary as a second clothes Elvis Junkie still working on getting my copy al-amin is going to help me she's kind of taken me under her Wing I guess
