Ginger Alden and Billy Smith were there in his last year.They say the exact opposite Elvis struggled to live.many illnesses to overcome.And his weight gain was bloat due to water retention.He lost the bloat look within days.So say Ginger who slept with him...a return to normal weight. She said he was never fat.When she met him in Nov 76, her first reaction was how girgeous he was.He never lost his pride or desire to please his fans.I do not know what you read but so many around him did not have the knowlegge.They observed or fabriccated.There is a huge difference between having knowledge and mere observation.Most of the garbage around Elvis was told by Red West who admitted he lied in a video..lied for money and revenge then embellished by his publisher. So which story of an admitted liar do you believe? These same lies were told and retold in countless books until they become the truth.Ginger Alden was recently interviewed on The Ultimate Fan Channe youtube l.It would be worth your while to view it.Also wise people are open to hearing an opposing point of view.Every fan should read Sally Hoedel's Destined to Die Young book.You may then have a different point of view.

@@margarettaylor8107 ah his cousin Billy anyway to answer when i saw him in 72/73 after aloha 2 weeks after he alreadt had gained 10 lbs or so NO BIG DEAL WAS GREAT then in vegas in 75/76 wow you knew something was radically wrong ... heard it.. well its all after the fact as he was dead Charlie Hodge Ronnie Tutt(drummer) James Burton (Lead Guitar) and from Elvis Himself how he would say he hated Vegas.He was a smart guy he knew he had become a characture of himself in the last 1 year or so of his life but he kept going and the fans kept coming and his voice never left him

I absolutely love the guy, however to believe that drugs were not responsible for his early death and decline is ignoring the evidence. Yes he had some serious health issues although how many of these were brought on due to his abuse of drugs? As Sonny West said, here was a man who had everything in the palm of his hands and drugs took it away.

@@leectcb That's why you need to read the book! Elvis had serious health problems in 9 of the eleven body systems.Five of them since birth. He was in pain more than likely every day of his life. As he once said you need to walk in a man's shoes before you hand out judgment. I believe Christ said something similar too! Maybe someone needs to scrutinize your life from top to bottom. "Ye without sin cast the first stone." Believe me I have had similar problems that Elvis had but not as bad as he did and I know he suffered greatly the night he died alone in that bathroom!
