This is definitely an absolutely amazing song and incredible collab. For a little bit more on Jelly Roll, he started off singing rap/hip-hop then moved to rock and now is more country. He’s an amazing artist to listen to if you’ve ever been through a hard time and sings a lot about his past. Would definitely recommend checking out more of his both older and newer music

Jelly and Ronnie have a lot in common. Age, going through the hells of prison stints, then coming back, rebuilding their lives and careers. Both are cross genre artist, and both are 2 of the biggest artist at the moment in music. Jelly used to do nothing but Memphis style gangster rap and still raps to this day, though his singing is what has made him famous.

It reminds me of Goddamn and Drifter mixed together 😂 Drifter was already a country vibe back in the day. Live the evolution and the crossover!

Apparently Junior (aka Jelly Roll aka JR) had asked Ronnie for an autograph for his daughter. Immediately knew they were going to collab. Gotta read the tea nuggets

A lot of people do not realize what modern country evolved from. It was hair metal. Mutt Lange producd and wrote all of AC/DC and Def Leppards major hit albums in the 80's. He married Shania Twain and brought that sound to her, and she rode it to fame and as usual in music, everyone copied it, and it has became the norm. Half the writers on Nashville Row are ex hair metal guys like John Corabi (Scream/Ratt/Motley Crue), John 5 (Rob Zombie/Motley Crue) Butch Walker (Southgang/Marvelous 3) and many more. I love how this brings elements of pop, country, hair metal, metalcore and a side of rap all together in one nice tastey meal.

Jelly was a drug dealing country thug. Him and his best friend Struggle Jennings went to prison. Struggle was arrested on charges of conspiracy with 200 keys of cocaine and 300 pounds of weed after FBI had audio of him and the cartel. Luckily Jelly did not get rounded up in that. Jelly's first child was born while he was in prison and he decided then that he was going to change his life for the better so he could take care of his baby since the baby mama was a drug addict.
