This Pentatonix reaction is genuinely my first time ever seeing their Evolution Of Michael Jackson video. Really tight arrangement, well performed. Impressive.

When I do my reaction videos I don't press pause because I don't want to interrupt the natural flow of the music as it was originally intended by the artist. I try to vocalise my thoughts in real time as I listen to the song, and then summarise my reaction afterwards.

If you'd like to see this live, I'd suggest their PopSpring Concert (MTV sponsored). They do the medley along with three original songs.

I love their evolution videos because they are one take…and sung live versus a professional music video which is lip synched to the studio recording. Their transitions with all their medley videos are killer. Kevin (beatboxer) is probably the most musically talented of the group. Not only does he have a beautiful tenor voice, but he is a classically trained cellist (other instruments too, but we get to see his cello the most) who pioneered the art of ‘celloboxing’…playing cello while beatboxing. He performs his own arrangements of typically classical pieces on tour. If interested the most current is ‘Kevin’s Fifth’ which he performed on their most recent tour in 2022 - ‘Christmas Spectacular’. Look for the livestream version as it’s the best quality. For a bonus, he also speaks Mandarin fluently and graduated pre-med from Yale.

Yep, Mitch is a wonder. And he raps. Check out their cover of Problem. You may also be interested at some point in watching Recording Evergreen, a mini-doc about making a recent Christmas album, one that was nominated for the most recent Grammies (although they didn’t win). Glad you liked this. I love the evolution videos - the Beyonce and Ariane Grande ones are fantastic too. I love the fact that they sing them live as one take (they record them a few times and pick the best one). You won't get any argument from Pentaholics on how angelic and extraordinary Mitch's voice is. He's a once-in-a-generation talent. Lots of people say Dimash has the best voice in the world and technically he is phenomenal but his voice doesn't move me the way Mitch's does. You need to watch their version of Bohemian Rhapsody. Brian May loves it and says it's one of the best covers he's ever heard of it. They waited 6 years before they did that one because they wanted the arrangement to do the song justice. Wait till you see how they do the guitar solo!

When you are ready you should check out their live performance at Pop Spring 2016. It is professionally recorded so great sound. It includes three of their original songs as well as you will get to hear Evolution of MJ done live. It is wonderful.

If you want to see PTX have fun, then their versions of 'Can't Hold Us' and 'Thrift Shop' (Macklemore/Ryan Lewis) are great, as is their original 'Sing'. To get the full PTX vocal experience, it has to be 'Run to You', another original. It's beautiful!

Love your reactions to Pentatonix!! The three main vocalist were in the same high school choir together so have sang together for many years. PTX takes acapella to a whole new level! The more you hear them, you will find they have a "Wall of sound" that will shake you to your core. Their upgrade of John Lennon's Imagine is a great example!! Also recommend Sound of Silence, Mad World, Can you feel The Love Tonight, Bohemian Rhapsody, and their originals Be My Eyes, Love Again and Cracked. Subbed for more Pentatonix 😍

Watched all your PTX reactions. Subbed for more PTX content. With all their covers, originals and Christmas music to choose from you’ll be busy for quite some time. Others have given excellent suggestions for what to react to next. I’ll leave that up to you. Consider reacting to their Sing-Off competition season. 12 episodes that introduce them and follow their journey getting to know each other, their gifts and strengths. Magic happens…stars are born.

They still do this live. Live, Scott tends to soul riff some awesome stuff into arrangements. Matt too especially when he’s doing older Avi parts, enough homage and then the Here’s Me. They do not miss a beat live, but personalities shine.

Love their evolution videos, with everything stripped away and just their talent on display. I’d love to see your reaction to Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, you break everything down and pick up on so many things. It’s a masterpiece, just too short for my liking

Why don't you start with their 3 Grammy wins? Daft Punk, Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy, and Jolene with Dolly. You will be amazed. Their Daft Punk was done in one of their kitchens on a $400 budget. It's really cool. Dance is unexpected and amazing, and Jolene is with one of the greats. Enjoy! I'll be watching with you.
