Hey, I am from Texas and I stumbled upon his Opera 2 performance from the Singer 2017 in 2017. Haven't gone a day without listening to Dimash since. Flew to New York to see him live in concert in 2019. You think he is powerful on video, you should see him live. He has moved to LA at least for a time, although I think he will always return to him homeland because he loves it so. His entire New York concert in on his official channel. Trust me, he is so interactive with the fans, so warm and genuine and yes, he made sure to introduce his band, all of his team etc. He was also humble enough to get on his knees to thank the sold out Barclays center audience for coming. I will tell you this. He has ruined almost all other music for me. Others can not compete. That being said, there is an artist in China, Hua Chenyu you should also check out and throw some good old Chris Stapleton in the mix. You should also look for a video called Times when Dimash had fun with his voice or forgot he was human.

He was only 22 during this competition and barely knows English. He competes with established singers in China, the youngest and the only foreigner. It's a 14 round competition and thus introduced him to global fame although famous already to his country and post soviet states. He come only 2nd overall but won the hearts of Chinese audience, so his largest fanbase is in China, after the first round, he woke up as superstar This was the 3rd round and you can see that they're giving him standing ovation even b4 he starts singing. He is a very humble guy, very cultured, well mannered, spiritual and very patriotic, and yes he always gives credit to the team behind him.

All contestants including Dimash were invited to take part. All invitees are well established proffessional singers. 1st time away from home 4 Dimash no English or Chinese. Had to learn the songs given in whatever langauge he was asked to use. He already had a well established career in his own country Kazakhstan, snd countries surrounding Kazakhstan. He was already winner of many prostigeous competitions of the highest levels. And was also on one or two judges panels in the countries around his.Hence his invitation. He was the youngest contestant, came 2nd, because at that time foreigners were not allowed to win. They changed that rule the following year. But for Dimash being in the show launched his world wide status. Because the Chinese loved him, his personality and valued his incredible talent. The morning after his 1st performance , he was allocated security men, to keep him safe when he left his hotel. The 1st time he had needed them. His reputation spread thru China like a wild fire, and then across the world. So that was the biggest win for him. I am very grateful the audience (who were the judges of the competigion, all involved in the music world ) and TV watchers did that.

Technically he won a competition called the Slavianski Bazaar (Slavic Bazaar) in 2015 in Vitebsk, Belarus, which gave him international notoriety. This was a Chinese reality show in essence, with the main premise of being a friendly competition for professional and established stars of showbusiness in China. Dimash was invited as a wildcard contestant after the shows producer saw him at an event in Kazakhstan. He was already a seasoned professional, performing since he was 5 years old, and was well known throughout Kazakhstan, Central Asia, and Belarus. He was the youngest ever contestant up until 2017, at 22 years of age, and was the only one not of Chinese ethnicity.
