Fun fact: Avu-chan stated that one of her main influences is Lady Gaga! So it's no coincidence you felt that similarity. This band is such a revelation, and I'm so glad they're getting more attention. Loved hearing your thoughts on them btw!

Ahhhhhh I love Queen Bee and this song so much! Avu-chan's leaps to falsetto blow me away every time. What a great performance. Appreciate your analysis!

If I'm correct, falsetto is singing on unclosed vocal cords. In Avu-chan's case it's full sound, so it's not falsetto, it's just her head voice and incredible vocal range. ;)

@@tamashii6670 I don't think the distinction between head and falsetto is as clear as you suggest in every singer but ya totally could be! Amazing either way ✨

@@melskmelsk Like I said, falsetto is not full sound, when you singing on unclosed vocal cords you can't sing with full power, sound is weaker because of unclosed vocal cords. Avu-chan's high notes are very strong, you can hear full sound, that's why I think it's not falsetto.

Thank you for reacting to this; I wasn't sure what the singer's gender was, so I looked it up on Wikipedia, and found out that Avu-chan rejects all gender labels and pronouns. I would never have found this out if not for your video. I am non-binary myself, so even though my label empowers me, even so Avu-chan fills me with such empowerment too, to reject gender like that. And SUCH VOCALS!! Fantastic.

Since I try to do these videos as blind as possible, I admit I never looked into what their preferred pronouns were. I just figured them/they were very gender neutral. Im glad my video was able to help!

the wikipedia didn't say anything about pronouns? avu-chan has recently personally requested the inu-oh PR team to use she/her for her so i think we should go along with that. she said she identifies with aspects of both female & male genders but she usually uses feminine terms only as self-descriptors (& those in the industry stick to fem terms as well, both in japanese & english).

@@divisix024 I think it's more that they don't explicitly say what their gender identities are. Avu-chan goes by she in the official press written about her/the band. (gender identity isn't the same as pronouns, pronouns are just something that can be affirming of or reflect your gender... if that makes sense)

@@specificsoup oh yeah you’re right, it’s more like “unknown” or “undisclosed” rather than “rejected”. Although I’ve read in some other comments that the pronoun were simply based off the suffixes of their names (like “chan” would be a she), and that they’ve nowadays stopped using those settings. I’ve not yet seen it stated in an official source, however, so feel free to take it with a bucket of salt.

This is my favorite version of this song! Avu-chan's voice is so raw and powerful in this, gives me goosebumps. You can really feel the distress/anger and desperation from Ai's children it's supposed to portray. And the whole theatrical aspect of it adds so much. At the very beginning she kinda falls apart for a sec, following the manga/anime's theme of portraying Ai as a bunny puppet held up by strings. She then composes herself in an idol-like fashion. It's all so great.

Yeah, the way Avu-chan sings is theatrical and wonderful! Queen Bee performed other songs on The First Take (Fire and BL) In Fire,the vocal gets higher and lower and the guitar is also wonderful. You can feel Avu-chan's beautiful and great expression in BL.

You mean vocalist visual performance? You should know that Queen Bee is band's name, vocalist is Avu-chan, and there is also guitarist from this band, Hibari-kun. I recommend their older The First Take performance to song "火炎", just Hibari-kun's guitar and Avu-chan's vocal, amazing song and performance.

Hey great video man! I love what you said about Queen Bee's more theatrical qualities, seeing as their song was probably chosen for the Oshi no Ko ending because of those same qualities (I would imagine at least idk lol). Not only for that obviously but you get what I mean I'm sure :) also I have a recommendation for a song that I think you might like! It's by Tatsuya Kitani and it's called Eien (or I don't want eternity, eternally). Hope to see that reaction one day! (no pressure lol I'm sure you got a lot of content you're working on already haha)

Think the song was picked due to the similar theming of the intro and show itself (Lying and deceit to fulfill a desire that might never come or that will have a terrible price)
