African drumming is mostly about expressing yourself freely on the drums because we apply a lot of polyrhythms & independence... but just make sure u're always in pocket in the context of the music & getting dem hits on spot.. That's what Marcus does... We don't consider it as overplaying cos we love rhythmic sounds

He is punishing his kit, man he hits hard. His floor tom is almost tuned to the bass case giving him three, insane. I shouild have added that it is an incredible performance and that I'm surprised that we aren't seeing wood chips flying all over the place!

This drummer gentleman has a quite unique style, if you notice (and dresses quite well :o). He's almost stiff & SMOOOOOOOOOOTH, all at the same time? He's got a quality of making you anticipate "what is he going to do next?" Like the old ketchup commercial, ala Carly Simon's "Anticipation"
